It’s been so COLD! Good news though, is warming up. Hang in there!

If you are experiencing low energy, increased or decreased appetite, irritable and unmotivated more so this last week. It’s not a coincidence that we’ve had snow days and been cooped inside.
There’s nothing wrong with you. Your body is just needing some extra attention.

With Dialectical Behavioral Therapy we practice paying attention to what we need and our surroundings (Mindfulness) and then learn skills for healthier copying and supporting ourselves in all areas of our lives, at home and work.

I forgot my phone in my car when I worked out the other day and ugh!! how annoyed was I when I realized it. But then, something happened. I didn’t like that it bothered me that much…I noticed that maybe a little separation might be helpful.

Turns out:

1. I got my workout done a lot quicker because I’m not consistently distracting myself.

2. I felt calmer and realized I was allowing too much noise in my head during what is meant to be a self-care time.

3. Mindfulness is not about keeping the noise off but about noticing when our minds disconnect and be able to come back to the present moment.

4. Journaling and sharing this with you was helpful. It gave me space to reflect on the situation.
