Some recent feedback about Tammy: “Incredibly hardworking, warm, friendly, and compassionate, Tammy was also spot on in her time management skills. She developed a trusting relationship with me and continued to build that trust each day. She encouraged me to reach my goals and cheered me on when I did. She has a positive attitude, is calm and incredibly caring, and is a team player who loves her job.”

It was great to see everyone who came out for Octofair! It was another successful year with good food, shopping bargains, and fellowship. And the weather was perfect, with sunny skies and cool temperatures. Many thanks to those who worked so hard in preparation for this two-day event to support the Residents Association!

Congratulations to our team member of the month for July, Dining Room Supervisor Takiyah Jennings! She was nominated for her excellent work helping set up three family events for a resident — communicating quickly and meeting needs. "Takiyah is a consummate professional; experienced, organized, and with an attention to detail that made working with her a joy. Our family's weekend was simply wonderful, in large part because of Takiyah's work," a family member said.

The landscaping isn't quite finished, but we love the new look of our front entrance! The community celebrated a ribbon-cutting this week with partners Benchmark Construction Company, Inc. and Spiezle Architectural Group. The project updated the old covered entrance to be more open, bright and welcoming, with expert input from resident Ann Ledger, who has years of experience in architecture.

It’s a great place to find deals, start early holiday shopping, and enjoy good food and kids’ activities. We'll have a silent auction, raffles, crafts, and much more.

Friday hours: 4:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Saturday hours: 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

White Horse Village has interest groups around all kinds of topics and pastimes: Sculpture, poetry, bocce, gardening, billiards, poker, table games, bridge, and much more. Until recently, there was no science and technology group, even though our community includes chemists, engineers, physicians, physicists, and biologists. But a new STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) interest group started over the summer! They'll discuss everything from DNA to gravity waves. “We’re not going to be writing equations on the blackboard, it’s just kind of a social gathering, getting to know residents who have common interests,” says Ray Orzechowski, who started the group.
