The Vagus Nerve!

The vagus nerve plays a major role in how your child regulates, adapts, and responds to stress. If your child is struggling with symptoms such as meltdowns, focus challenges, emotion regulation, gut issues, or more, it may be that their nervous system is stuck in stress mode.

At Pax, our Heart Rate Variability scan gives us a window into your child’s vagal tone, allowing us to measure how their nervous system is actually functioning. This allows us to build a targeted and personalized care plan to support proper regulation!

Curious as to what your child’s nervous system looks like? Send us a DM or give our office a call to learn more! We’re here for YOU!

We’re living in a world where stress is constant… and it’s not just affecting adults.

More and more kids are dealing with symptoms like anxiety, fatigue, dizziness, digestive challenges, and brain fog, without clear answers.

This is where dysautonomia comes in.

Dysautonomia is a state where the nervous system becomes overwhelmed and can’t regulate the body the way it’s designed to. When that happens, communication between the brain and body starts to break down… and symptoms can show up everywhere.

Many people are told there’s no real solution outside of managing symptoms.
But what if the focus shifted to the nervous system itself?

At Pax, we use advanced scans to understand how your nervous system is functioning and where it may be stuck in stress patterns. From there, we create a plan to help your body begin to regulate, adapt, and heal.

If you’ve been searching for answers, this might be the missing piece. DM us to learn how to get started.

Dysautonomia simply means the autonomic nervous system is overwhelmed and struggling to regulate the body properly. This system is responsible for things we don’t consciously control like digestion, immune function, sleep, emotional regulation, and more.

When this system becomes stuck in stress mode, symptoms can start to appear all across the body.

Many times the roots trace back to early stressors. As early as prenatal stress, birth interventions, or even early exposure to repeat medications.

Instead of chasing symptoms, the real question becomes:
How well is the nervous system functioning?

This is exactly what we look at through our neurological INSiGHT scans at Pax. If you’ve been searching for answers, this might be the missing piece.

Many colicky babies are living in a state of nervous system overload. Birth is a huge physical stressor. Pregnancy can be stressful. Even early feeding challenges, reflux, or tension can keep a baby’s nervous system stuck in “fight or flight.”

When a baby is dysregulated, their body has a harder time:• digesting• passing gas• sleeping deeply• settling and soothing

If the nervous system can’t relax, neither can baby.

At Pax, we look beyond the label of colic and ask what is keeping this little nervous system from regulating. Gentle, specific care is designed to reduce stress patterns so baby can shift into rest, digest, and grow mode.

If you’re exhausted and searching for answers, you’re not crazy. Send us a DM to learn more about how chiropractic may help!

Our focus with chiropractic care is always the nervous system.

Through gentle, specific Neuro-Tonal adjustments, we work to reduce stress patterns and restore better communication between the brain and the gut. When the nervous system shifts out of stress mode and into regulation, the muscles involved in digestion and elimination can coordinate the way they’re designed to.

Up to 30% of kids struggle with constipation, especially in the toddler and preschool years. And it’s not always something they simply outgrow. Often, it’s a sign the “rest and digest” system isn’t functioning optimally.

The vagus nerve, which plays a major role in digestion, begins in the upper neck. When that area is under stress, digestive motility can slow down. The mid-abdominal nerve supply also plays a key role in properly breaking down and moving food through the system. When communication improves, function can improve.

If this sounds like your kiddo, send us a DM to learn more!

When a child is struggling with sensory challenges, it’s rarely random. The clues are often in their story. Was pregnancy stressful? Was birth long, fast, induced, or involved interventions? Were there early signs like colic, reflux, tension, or sleep challenges? Those early stressors shape how the nervous system learns to adapt.

At Pax, we start by listening. We walk through your child’s full history and use our INSiGHT scans to objectively measure how their nervous system is functioning and whether it’s stuck in stress mode. We want to see how the Central Nervous System is filtering and processing sensory information. Because sensory issues are often about how the brain and nervous system are processing input.

When a child is stuck in fight-or-flight, everything feels louder, brighter, and more overwhelming. With specific, consistent nervous system-focused chiropractic care, tailored to their story and scan findings, we often see:
✨ smoother transitions✨ fewer meltdowns✨ better sleep✨ improved regulation

Not by chasing symptoms, but by addressing the root stress patterns underneath them. If this feels like your child’s story, send us a DM. Let’s start there. 🤍
