Earlier this week, our residents enjoyed a thoughtful and inspiring visit to the Michener Art Museum 🎨🖼️

Today, in honor of National Connect Your Heart to Art Day, we’re celebrating that experience and the way art brings people together, sparks conversation, and creates meaningful moments.

Fun fact: the museum is named after Pulitzer Prize–winning author James A. Michener, who was a longtime resident of Bucks County and a generous supporter of the arts.

A recent afternoon out took our residents to Amalfi Ristorante—and it did not disappoint. 🍝✨

From classic Italian favorites to a warm, welcoming atmosphere, it was the kind of evening that reminds us how much joy there is in getting out, sharing a great meal, and spending time together. Lots of laughs, plenty of good food, and memories made around the table.

Last week, we were honored to welcome Doctor Deb Derrickson Kossmann to Pennswood Village for a powerful and thought-provoking conversation about her new memoir, Loss Found Kept: A Memoir. 📖

Dr. Kossmann shared the deeply personal story behind her book, which chronicles her experience as a clinical psychologist uncovering her mother’s extreme hoarding situation. Through her reflections, residents gained insight into the complex intersection of hoarding, dementia, mental illness, and family dynamics—along with the emotional journey of confronting trauma and uncovering long-held secrets.

Her talk sparked meaningful conversation and offered a compassionate lens into topics that are often difficult to discuss. We’re so grateful to Dr. Kossmann for spending time with our community and for sharing her story with such honesty and empathy. 💬✨

What a morning at The Business Side of Pennswood! 📊✨

Last Tuesday, our auditorium was filled with over 70 guests who braved the cold to spend the morning with us — and we couldn’t have been more grateful for the turnout ❄️🤍 It was a truly packed house as our CEO, Dan Murray, and COO, Tom Atkins, led an engaging and transparent conversation about the foundation, finances, and long-term stability behind life at Pennswood.

Attendees left with a clearer understanding of what makes our Life Plan Community so unique — from our continuum of care to the thoughtful planning that supports vibrant living today and well into the future. We loved seeing so many familiar faces (and meeting new ones!) who are curious about what life here can look like.
