A sprinkle of holiday magic swept through Pennswood early Friday morning ✨

In the early hours of the morning, St. Nick and his helpers quietly made their rounds, leaving sweet surprises in the shoes left outside apartment doors.

This beloved tradition comes from St. Nicholas Day, celebrated in many European countries, where shoes are filled with treats as a symbol of generosity and good fortune 🎁👟

With moments like these, it’s clear the holiday season is officially in full swing at Pennswood Village 🎄❤️

Our residents enjoyed a wonderful outing to the historic The Newtown Theatre to see Bicycle Thieves (Italian: Ladri di biciclette) — the acclaimed 1948 Italian neorealist film by Vittorio De Sica 🎬🇮🇹

The Newtown Theatre is such a treasured local gem, offering everything from classic films to concerts and community events. It’s the perfect place for our residents to connect, learn, and enjoy meaningful cultural experiences right here in Bucks County ❤️✨

After our Community Meeting on Tuesday, residents rolled up their sleeves and got to work on something a little sweeter — gingerbread houses!

Let’s just say… they took their assignments very seriously 🍬🏠✨

From candy-tiled roofs to cookie cobblestone paths, the creativity was off the charts.
Just look at these results — masterpieces made with holiday cheer and a whole lot of frosting! 🎄😄

The holiday season has officially arrived at Pennswood! 🎄✨

Our big Christmas tree went up in the Community Building lobby today, filling the space with that unmistakable festive sparkle. Residents and staff stopped by throughout the afternoon got a sneak peek of the magic as it all came together.

A special thank you to Grundys Plantscaping for delivering and decorating our beautiful tree again this year 🎁🌲 — your team helps make our lobby feel truly joyful every holiday season.

One of our many winterberry bushes is showing off just in time for the first day of December! These bright red berries add a cheerful pop of color to campus as we welcome a new winter season.

Fun fact: winterberries hold onto their berries long after the leaves drop, providing an important cold-weather food source for birds like cedar waxwings and robins. Nature’s décor with purpose! ❄️❤️

Thanksgiving at Pennswood was especially memorable this year thanks to Chef Ed, Chef Dan, Chef Randy, and the rest of our dedicated culinary team. They prepared a beautiful buffet that residents, their families, and friends truly enjoyed, featuring an elegant fall salad, slow-roasted turkey with homemade stuffing and gravy, striped sea bass, stuffed acorn squash, and a selection of classic Thanksgiving pies.

We’re grateful for the care, creativity, and teamwork that go into making the holiday feel so special for our community.
