Certain types of toothpaste can be a problem for sensitive teeth. Both tartar control and teeth-whitening toothpaste have ingredients that may lead to increased sensitivity. We can help to recommend different options. Ask us at your next dental appointment!

Do you see frayed bristles on your toothbrush? That means it’s time to pick up a new one! If it’s been less than three months since your last new toothbrush, frayed bristles may also indicate that you’re brushing too hard! Brushing with too hard a brush, or brushing too much force can cause tooth wear, gum recession, and sensitive teeth due to exposed roots. Be sure to choose a soft-bristled toothbrush and focus on using gentle circular movements to help protect your tooth enamel and gums when you’re brushing.
