📚 "I’ve been an avid reader from an early age! My mom often reminds me of how I’d find a random spot in the house, curl up with a book, and get lost in it for hours. Now in my mid-30’s, not a lot has changed since those early years! I primarily enjoy reading non-fiction books that center on theology, history, autobiographies and will dive into fiction books at times too!
My favorite author, and arguably the greatest apologetic of all time, is C.S. Lewis! I also love the Harry Potter series as well. I’m currently digging into this study on the book of Hebrews and have been loving it!

In these uncertain and scary times, maintaining mental health is a big issue across the board. This is sharing what helps her most, running.

"I’ve heard it said that running can be considered the human body’s most raw form of freedom. I fell in love with running a few years ago and truly feel it can have tremendous healing benefits. I’ll quote one of my favorite books about running, “Born To Run” by Christopher McDougall where he says “There’s something so universal about that sensation, the way running unites our two most primal impulses: fear and pleasure. We run when we’re scared, we run when we’re ecstatic, we run away from our problems and run around for a good time… if you don’t think you were born to run, you’re not only denying history. You’re denying who you are.

Today is National Depression Screening Day. If a loved one is struggling with , you may feel lost as to how you can best support them. Where can you help?

1. Reach out
If someone is in crisis, they don't know how to ask for help and might even refuse it out of fear they will be a burden.

2. Find a way to connect with them
If that person is not willing to see people, send a handwritten letter. Them seeing you took the time to think of them helps them to know they are not alone.

3. Refrain from giving advice
Focus on conveying empathy, instead of giving advice. You want to communicate that you are there, that you see them and you are listening.
