The Cascades at Stone Bridge

The Cascades at Stone Bridge A senior living community offering assisted living and memory care services.

When the focus of care is on daily living rather than on skilled nursing, The Commons of Newtown offers residents a nurturing environment with personal care assistance available 24-hours a day, nutritious daily meals, and plenty of social opportunities. For those who need additional assistance with certain daily activities, we enhance our services to meet your individual needs. We also welcome short-term respite stay guests for both traditional assisted living or memory care, providing an opportunity to rebuild strength and confidence while transitioning home following a skilled nursing stay. This is also a great opportunity for primary caregivers to use during a business trip or a much-needed vacation, as well as to experience our services on a short-term basis.

We proudly celebrated Veterans Day 2025 with a day full of music, memories, and heartfelt appreciation.

Billy Michael filled the room with patriotic tunes and fight songs, Chef Kelly treated everyone to red velvet cupcakes, and our in-house veterans were recognized with touching presentations.

Thank you to Lois Barber for sharing her inspiring collection of military memorabilia — it made the day even more special.

Nothing brings people together like a friendly game of co****le! 🎯

Huge thanks to our volunteer Craig for building the boards, and to our talented craft group for painting them with love.

Whether playing or cheering from the sidelines, everyone had a great time enjoying the fun and creativity that made this possible!

Honoring Our Veterans

This Veterans Day, we proudly recognize and thank the members of our National Health Care Associates family—both employees and residents— who have served in the military. Your courage, dedication, and selfless service continue to inspire us all.

At National, we see those same values, discipline, teamwork, and compassion, reflected in the care you provide and the strength you bring to our communities every day.

To all who have served and continue to serve through your actions, kindness, and leadership—we salute you.

Thank you for your service and for the lasting impact you make in our centers and beyond.

Together, We Walked for a World Without Alzheimer’s

During the month of October, every one of our Connecticut Centers proudly joined the Walk to End Alzheimer’s, with team members representing at seven walks across the state. Our dedicated teams came together with one goal — to honor those living with Alzheimer’s and to help find a cure.

We’re incredibly proud to share that together, we raised over $26,000 (and counting!) with 123 participants across our Connecticut Centers. Every dollar raised helps fund critical Alzheimer’s research, care, and support programs.

A heartfelt thank-you to every team, every walker, and every donor who helped make this impact possible. Your compassion and dedication truly make a difference.

Look who made our day brighter, Maggie the pet therapy Corgi! 🐾

She made her rounds with tail wags, gentle snuggles, and plenty of belly rubs. Maggie may be the therapist, but we think we got the best treatment of all.

Our hearts were swinging to the sounds of Swingset! 🎶

From smooth Bossa Novas to classic movie themes and timeless Irving Berlin tunes, the music brought smiles, memories, and a whole lot of toe-tapping joy to our community.
