Benchmark Women’s History Month Spotlight

Courage. Determination. A woman who changed a community.

At Benchmark Senior Living, we are honored to celebrate Bedford Falls resident Ann McLaughlin, whose service and determination helped restore access to healthcare in a small Colombian community.

In 1965, Ann joined the Peace Corps and traveled to Colombia, where she helped reopen and restore a dilapidated clinic in the small town of Saboya. She cleaned, repaired, advocated for medical staff, and even rode horseback through the countryside to spread the word that the clinic was open and available, refusing to back down despite danger.

Forty-five years later, she returned to see the clinic had grown into a modern facility with a neonatal department.

Her story is a powerful reminder of the lasting impact one person can have.

Benchmark Women’s History Month Spotlight

Compassion. Strength. An extraordinary gift to others.

At Benchmark Senior Living, we are celebrating Arbors at Shelburne associate Miranda Berry, RN & RCD, whose generosity has helped families experience the joy of welcoming a child.

While attending nursing school, working full time, and raising her own two children, Miranda made the selfless decision to help others grow their families through surrogacy.

In 2021, she carried a baby boy for a courageous leukemia survivor who was unable to carry a child herself. In 2023, she helped two dads welcome their baby boy into the world.

To those who know her, Miranda is more than a nurse and leader, she is a teacher, coworker, and friend who inspires those around her to be their very best.

Benchmark Women’s History Month Spotlight

Quiet strength. Lifelong service. A legacy of compassion.

At Benchmark Senior Living, we are proud to celebrate Forge Hill resident Molly June Foster who dedicated her life to serving underserved populations.

After graduating from London Hospital Nursing School, Molly began her career caring for Indigenous Peoples in Canada, learning the importance of listening first and honoring culture. She later worked with burn victims in Galveston, Texas - an experience that deepened her resilience and empathy.

Her life reflects her favorite quote: “Speak softly and carry a big stick.” A balance of gentleness and strength that defines her care for others.
