Family Therapy Association Cultivating health, balance, & emotional wellness
Through individual, couple, & children therapy

Newtown Family Therapy is a psychotherapy practice located in Newtown, CT, where all are welcome and encouraged to share their story. Serving the communities of Newtown, Brookfield, Bethel, Danbury, Ridgefield, Redding, Monroe, Southbury, New Milford, and New Fairfield, our purpose is to help you find a sense of wholeness, health, and peace within yourself. Katie Nash, LCSW, is a therapist and co-founder of Newtown Family Therapy. As a therapist she is passionate about empowering you to gain insight into the road blocks that have been preventing you from moving forward and feeling whole. Her practice was born out of a desire to connect to a community in need of healing and to offer more than today’s world of managed care and short term therapy allows. A compassionate and empathetic therapist, Katie’s diverse background, both personally and professionally, allows her to develop a unique approach to helping people—she matches effective clinical interventions with a humanistic and grounded approach. Prior to co-founding Newtown Family Therapy, Katie was the Clinical Coordinator at the Recovery Network of Programs, New Prospects in Bridgeport, CT. She received her bachelor’s degree from Quinnipiac University and her master’s degree in Social Work from New York University’s Silver School of Social Work.

Happy World Kindness Day from FTA!
On World Kindness Day, we’re reminded that even the smallest act of care — for ourselves or others — can nurture connection and well-being.
Kindness heals. 💛

Today we honor those who served, and remember that caring for their mental health is part of honoring their service. This Veterans Day, let’s thank our veterans not just for their courage in service, but for their strength in healing. 🇺🇸❤️‍🩹🧠

Our food drive is off to a strong start! Just a few days in, and these generous donations are already filling up. There’s still plenty of time to contribute — we’re accepting non-perishable goods at both our Trumbull and Newtown offices throughout the season. 🌾💛

The words that hang in both our offices remind us daily of why we’re here — to support, connect, and grow with our community 🌿
We’re excited to share that Trumbull Family Therapy and Newtown Family Therapy are now united under Family Therapy Association — a shared name that reflects who we’ve always been: one connected team, here to support the communities we serve.
We’re not going anywhere — just growing together 💚
