ASKING FOR A FRIEND

The title of the nostalgic song Guy Lombardo’s band popularized in the U.S. many decades ago is Scottish for “time gone by” or “old times”. Taken from a Scottish 1788 poem by Robert Burns, it is about the passage of time and singing it has become an iconic New Year’s Eve tradition worldwide.
