Naloxone Saves Lives!

Naloxone (Narcan) can reverse an opioid overdose and save a life.Northpointe provides Narcan and medication safety trainings for community members, organizations, and beyond.

During these trainings participants learn:

✔ How opioid overdoses happen
✔ How to recognize overdose warning signs
✔ How to administer Narcan
✔ How to safely store and dispose of unused medications

Anyone can learn these lifesaving skills. Because prevention also means being prepared.

What’s Really in a Teen’s Bedroom?

Substance use among youth is constantly evolving — and many products used to hide substances can look like everyday items.

Our Hidden Mischief program gives parents and caregivers a chance to walk through a mock teen bedroom and learn:

👀 Common hiding places for drugs and alcohol
🚩 Warning signs of substance use
📱 Current youth drug trends
💬 How to start conversations with teens

This interactive presentation helps families stay informed and prepared.

Knowledge is prevention.

Northpointe offers the WISE (Wellness Initiative for Senior Education) Program, which helps older adults learn:

✔ How medications interact with alcohol
✔ How to reduce fall risks and medication errors
✔ Ways to stay healthy and independent

WISE is an evidence-based program designed specifically for older adults in our community.

This week is both National Poison Prevention Week and National Drug and Alcohol Facts Week — a time to raise awareness about medication safety, substance use prevention, and how families can protect themselves.

Many poisonings and substance misuse cases start with medications that were never meant to be misused.

Simple prevention steps can make a big difference:

✔ Safe Use: Take medications exactly as directed and never share prescriptions with others.
✔ Safe Storage: Keep medications locked, out of sight, and out of reach of children and teens.
✔ Safe Disposal: Properly dispose of unused or expired medications at take-back sites or using approved disposal methods such as drop boxes or Deterra bags.

Northpointe Council offers FREE medication lock bags and Deterra bags to help families safely store medications and reduce the risk of misuse!

WISE is a free, evidence-based program designed specifically for older adults. Participants learn about:

WISE is interactive, supportive, and a great way to build community while focusing on overall health and well-being.
