A Silipos story in the wild! Southern Koala and Echidna Rescue Ltd is an NGO wildlife rehabilitation organization that treats and releases many injured Koalas and Echidnas back into the wild each year. They passed along their success story and the ongoing research they are doing into using Silipos® Gel Toe Tubes as an aid to healing injured and fractured beaks of Echidnas!

Echidnas are cute and extremely interesting Monotremes (egg-laying mammals). They are a perfectly adapted and crucial part of the ecosystems of Australia's unique forests, bushland, grasslands and deserts.

Fractured beaks unfortunately occur frequently when echidnas are hit by vehicles when they are crossing roads. Previously, Veterinarians have not successfully healed beaks. They are now beginning to have success with the Silipos® Gel Toe Tube, which fits most echidna beaks well!

1) "Knuckles" the Echidna who has been released back to the wild after his beak injury was successfully treated with Silipos gel tube.

2) Echidna "Notty" is under anesthetic and ready to receive his Silipos gel tube (with splint).

3) Silipos gel tube protects Notty's injured beak, holding a rigid splint in place to allow broken bones to stabilize and heal.
