Join us for an Ecstatic Dance experience: a conscious, free-form movement meditation where the music becomes your guide and your body becomes your expression. There are no steps to learn, no choreography to follow, and no judgment — only a safe, supportive space to move however feels right for you💃🏻💛

Ecstatic Dance is rooted in the belief that dance can be a pathway to self-discovery, emotional release, and deep connection with the present moment. By surrendering to the rhythm and moving with intention, you can release stress, connect with your emotions, and enter a meditative flow state that quiets the mind and awakens the body.

Join this Saturday for an incredible deep dive into the heart through human design, breathwork, and cacao!💛

Every one of us carries a unique energetic map — our Human Design — that shows how our body, heart, and energy are meant to move through the world. Some parts of that map are defined and steady, while others are open and deeply receptive — the places where we feel and absorb life most intensely🗺️

In Human Design, about 70% of people have an undefined or open Heart Center, meaning we’re naturally empathic and attuned to others’ needs and emotions. This openness is a gift — it allows for deep love, compassion, and connection — but without awareness, it can also lead to burnout, over-giving, people-pleasing, and heartbreak💙

In Designed by the Heart, we’ll use the wisdom of your Human Design to reconnect you to your heart’s natural intelligence. We begin with a ceremonial cacao circle to open the heart, followed by gentle movementto awaken compassion and joy, breathwork to clear energy that isn’t yours, and a loving-kindness meditation to refill your heart with truth and trust.

Throughout the journey, you’ll explore how your open centers — especially the heart — affect how you love, give, and receive. You’ll learn how to recognize when you’re carrying someone else’s emotions or expectations, and most importantly, you’ll implement boundaries rooted in self-love and energetic integrity so that your open-hearted nature becomes your greatest strength, not your greatest leak🥰

The very first principle of yoga philosophy, which guides everything we do at the studio and beyond, is ahimsa, non-harming. We will ALWAYS stand for feeding the hungry, loving our neighbors (of all ethnicities, orientations, gender identities, and immigration statuses), and aiding in the liberation of all oppressed people. This IS yoga. Far more than the fancy poses, sacred action towards these goals IS yoga.

If you’ve been hanging out at the studio lately, you’ve heard us speak a lot about compassion, and how cultivating loving-kindness towards those who are suffering (rather than just feeling their pain as your own) has been scientifically proven to increase our tendency to GIVE and to actually DO what it takes to help.

Tomorrow is a nationwide strike to end the violence enacted upon our neighbors by ICE. Since the practices of compassion that we teach not only help to calm your nervous system enough to allow you to help others with a clear head and love in your heart, but also to cultivate the kind of compassion necessary to take sacred action, we’ve decided not to close the studio tomorrow, but instead to offer all classes for FREE on Friday, 1/30. When you sign up for a class on Momence, you’ll be given the option to choose “Free/Pay later” (you won't be charged later) or to use the sliding scale to make a donation. We’ll also have a physical donation jar for cash donations on the counter. In our vinyasa classes, asana is a gateway, not the goal.
We practice linking breath and movement, while also exploring yogic philosophy, intentional pauses, and embodied awareness🧘

You’ll be invited to move in ways that feel supportive rather than forced. To notice sensation, honor your edges, and connect more deeply to yourself on and off the mat🙏🏼

It saddens us to cancel classes, and while were hoping to squeeze in the morning classes tomorrow, with the approaching storm and East Lyme’s parking ban, we’ve decided for everyone’s safety to cancel Sunday and Monday in-person classes.

We hope you all stay safe and warm, and we’ll see you back in the studio on Tuesday!💙
