Influenza has hit Niceville, and surrounding neighborhoods! If you haven't yet received your flu vaccine, please call us and come in tomorrow, Wednesday morning, 12/24, between 8:30 and 11 am. I will be here to provide your protection. We have had many unimmunized patients suffering with flu...don't go without protection!

Hello! We are excited for the upcoming Thanksgiving Holiday and school break. There is no better time than now to get your family protected from Flu, especially before traveling or hosting guests. We have run out of FLU mist (80 doses given!) however, we have plenty of flu shots available.

RSV is in now present in our community. This week we diagnosed an infant with RSV. Starting today, October 1, all infants born after April 1, 2025, qualify to receive BEYFORTUS, the protective monoclonal antibody injection that protects against RSV for this winter season. Please make sure your infant is protected during our Beyfortus clinics October 1-3, or get it during a scheduled Well Child Check up during the next month or two. This one time injection works to protect your infant from severe RSV. It has been a game changer in helping these little ones through the winter virus season.

Success! We gave over 60 flu vaccines today to parents and patients. We always enjoy these Saturday Flu clinics and hope you will join us for a Saturday or weekday clinic in October or November.
We give the Flu shots because they protect against influenza. There were pediatric deaths last year in unimmunized, healthy kids. Typically, the influenza virus attacks, and then a bacterial pneumonia causes further illness and death.

Django brought joy to so many patients over the past two years. Sadly, he became sick, and we had to say goodbye. He is buried in my backyard, near where he sunbathed and enjoyed the fresh air when he wasn't at the office with me. We miss him dearly. Thank you to all who petted him and gave him back the love.

Spring has brought change to our practice! Be sure to wish Jeanne a very happy retirement, and please say goodbye to Nurse Jennifer as she leaves to start a work from home nursing position. I am grateful to both of them for making Lynn Keefe Pediatrics such a special place.

Jennifer hopes to say goodbye to all, but since she won't see everyone before her last day, she wanted to say:
"It has been a privilege to care for your families over the past nearly 8 years! Watching the practice grow from day one and seeing your children grow right alongside has been a blessing. I will truly miss my job here and hope that you'll still say "Hi" when we run into each other around town. Thank you for allowing me to care for your families and for all of the memories that I will carry with me always!" Nurse Jennifer.
