For the month of March, we are using our creative side and introducing different styles of Art to our residents.

Still life art can be especially meaningful and beneficial for residents in a senior living facility. It focuses on familiar, everyday objects (flowers, fruit, teacups, books, heirlooms), it offers accessibility, comfort, and rich opportunities for expression—regardless of skill level.

Why Still Life Works Particularly Well in Senior Living?

Still life centers on familiarity, memory, and meaning—all powerful themes in later life. It allows residents to explore their stories while engaging cognitively, socially, and creatively.

For the month of February, our residents at Partin Place Senior Living stayed focused on going for the gold! 🏅

With the help of our amazing team here at Partin Place and Amanda with Select Physical Therapy, we created delicious Olympic rings made from nature’s very own fruit. Residents also enjoyed everyone’s favorite sweet treat, oreo cookies hand-dipped in white chocolate by some of our very own residents!

To top it all off, our champions received shiny winner’s gold medals.

Family Night was full of fun, laughter, and great memories with our residents and their loved ones.
We can’t wait for the next one — stay tuned!

Today our Residents at Partin Place Senior Living had a different kind of fun! They were able to use 4 out of the 5 senses: sight, smell, touch and hearing.

Did you know that having a visit with animals in general i.e birds, reptiles plus many more in memory care provides significant therapeutic benefits?

Not to mention reduced anxiety and agitation, lowered blood pressure, increased social interaction, and improved mood. These companions offer sensory stimulation, foster a sense of purpose, and act as a non-judgmental, calming presence for residents.

We would love to give a special shout out to Nonie's Ark Animal Encounters for bringing a little bit of her friends to our home!

ALL of Our Residents were very inquisitive and enjoyed the hands on experience!

Our residents were ready to wind down after all the Olympic excitement and refocus on their mind, body, and spirit.

Today marked the soft rollout of our SilverSneakers Yoga class, and every attendee had their poses down pat! Who knew that simply closing your eyes, taking deep breaths in through your nose, and exhaling through your mouth …then bringing your hands to heart center and honoring one another; could bring such a wonderful sense of calm to the afternoon hours?

We’re looking forward to many more peaceful and energizing sessions ahead. 🧘🏻‍♀️

Today was Olympic Co****le at Partin Place Senior Living, and what better way to play than a friendly challenge between Residents and Staff! Select Physical Therapys Amanda joined in on the fun as well!

These low impact, yet fun games pose a significant therapeutic benefit by boosting physical motor skills, enhancing social connection, and providing cognitive stimulation in a low-stress environment.

This game improves hand-eye coordination, balance, and range of motion while reducing feelings of loneliness and anxiety through group engagement and fun, familiar activity.

Our residents are getting closer to the Gold! 🏅🥇

We decided to add fun games of bowling, table air hockey, golf, basketball and noodle tennis to our Olympic Games here at Partin Place Senior Living! 🎳

The combination of these types of games bring several benefits for our memory care residents:

🧠 Cognitive benefits that support focus and sequencing: Residents practice simple steps—pick up ball → aim → roll—helping reinforce executive functioning.

💪 Physical benefits that enhance balance and mobility: Even seated or standing-assisted games such as these help support posture and controlled movement.

🤝 Social benefits that encourage group participation: Residents take turns, cheer each other on, and share the experience together.

Did you know? Organizations like the Alzheimer’s Association emphasize that structured recreational activities combining movement, social interaction, and familiarity can help maintain function longer and improve quality of life.

In between Games we ventured to the Tic Tac Toe competition; closed out our day with a friendly game of Bingo and Mandarin Orange Mocktails!
Cheers to all participants today!

Our Variety of Olympic Games check all three boxes — and our residents are working hard toward their Gold Medals! 🥇

The Olympic Games here at Partin place Senior Living started with a round of parachute play.

One of the key benefits of parachute games is the emphasis on teamwork and cooperation. Our residents must work in sync to create various movements encourage communication and trust in one another.

These activities help our residents develop cognitive skills, such as memory, concentration, and decision-making. Let the games today continue! 🥇🏅🏆

Instead of heading out for the usual, our Lunch Bunch made a right turn and ended up close to home — and we’re so glad we did!

The name of this spot will ring a bell for many of you.

If you haven’t checked out PB&J Bistro & Café yet, our residents here at Partin Place Senior Living highly recommend adding this tasty bistro with a “1920s speak easy ambiance” to your next place to dine!

Chef Phillip & Jess have a mission that states “We’re better together” with a commitment on giving back and staying local!

From the all-time favorite peanut butter & jelly to their own delicious twist on a classic burger, there’s something flavorful for everyone.

Topic around the table today consisted of taking us back to our highschool days, did you attend your highschool Senior Prom, if so what was your favorite memory? Did you buy a ticket? Was there a favorite dance or song?

Did you know roughly 37% of our residents did not attend a Prom? (A lightbulb turned on in Candace’s head)

Trust us… it’s worth the turn! 😋🍔

A few of our residents spent this Ash Wednesday in reflection and fellowship.

Days like these remind us of how special it is to support not just physical health, but spiritual well-being and community connection.

A very special shout out to Deacon Gary McBride for visiting for Communion, we are grateful for you!

Wishing all a peaceful and meaningful Ash Wednesday. ✝️
