All week long, staff at Bridgepointe at Ashgrove Woods have been performing random acts of kindness for one another! Miranda put together a snack basket consisting of chips, granola bars and rice krispy treat. Isaiah got donuts for all the admin staff to have during their morning meeting and Lorri brought in shower steamers and hand lotions for everyone!

Also all week, different departments went in for a daily drawing and could pick the random act of kindness they wanted from Denise!

Monday; April in housekeeping picked to have lunch ordered in.
Tuesday; Nurse Jill wanted pizza for all night shift staffs.
Wednesday; Parker in dietary wanted lunch ordered in.
Thursday; CNA Aubrey chose to have Denise do one of her resident’s showers and CNA Chezni picked to have dinner ordered in for her.
Friday; Miranda in HR for Admin department chose to have lunch ordered in for all admin staff!

Random acts of kindness doesn’t need to be just one

Happy Valentines Day from our heart to yours.

Today we ask you to join us in reflecting upon 1 John 4:19 and to pray over our elders.

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before you today with a heart full of gratitude for the gift of life and the blessing you have bestowed upon us. We want to pray for the elderly, who have spent their lives nurturing and raising families, contributing to society, and building our communities. Lord, as they enter their golden years, I ask that you bless them with your overwhelming love; especially in times of pain, loneliness and fear.

Lord, we ask that you surround each elder with deep and meaningful relationships, a sense of purpose and wholeness, and the knowledge that your love is enough.

In Jesus’s name, we pray. Amen.

Congratulations to our February Employee of the Month, Danica Lowe! Danica is one of our hardworking CNAs at Bridgepointe at Ashgrove Woods and we are thankful to have her!

“I’ve been a CNA at Bridgepointe for two years, and I’ve learned how important it is to build genuine connections with residents and coworkers. I try to bring a positive attitude to every shift and take pride in being someone people can count on. February is Black History Month! Throughout our building, various displays showcase individuals from diverse careers, backgrounds, and cultures. Black History Month honors contributions of African Americans to US history ranging from famous athletes like Jackie Robinson, to millionaires like Madam C.J. Walker, lawyers like John Mercer Langston, who was the first black man to become a lawyer in Ohio in 1854. Scientists such as George Washington Carver and Supreme Court Justice, such as Thurgood Marshall and so many more!

The traditional colors for Black History Month are red, black, green and yellow (or gold).

Red symbolizes the blood shed for liberation, the struggle for freedom and unity.

Black represents people of African ancestry, resilience, strength and heritage.

Green symbolizes the lush and vibrant wealth of Africa and the growth of their community.

Yellow/Gold represents justice, prosperity, equality and optimism.
