Pregnant? Breastfeeding? Questions about COVID-19 vaccination?

According to Dr. Thomas Hale of the Infant Risk Center in Texas, a leader in the safety of medications and mother's milk released the following statement:
https://www.infantrisk.com/covid-19-vaccine-pregnancy-and-breastfeeding

Most experts recommend vaccination for breastfeeding women without hesitation, while many recommend pregnant women discuss the risks and benefits of vaccination versus contracting COVID-19.

The vaccines are not live, have few ingredients, and no preservatives. Few components of the vaccine would ever reach the milk, if they did, they would likely just be digested like any other protein in the infant's gut. If anything the infant might gain some immunity through the maternal IgG cells in the breast milk, which could further protect the infant.

Many reputable organizations in the community also spoke up:

Let's celebrate together! Happy World Breastfeeding Week! August 1-7, celebrate today and everyday too!

LLL USA is excited to celebrate World Breastfeeding Week August 1-7 as well as National Breastfeeding Month during the month of August.
+What's the theme for World Breastfeeding Week?+
This year's theme for World Breastfeeding Week is "Empower Parents. Enable Breastfeeding." This echoes so much of LLL USA does across the country and around the world. Families are looking for information to help them make empowered feeding choices. It's the role of LLL USA Leaders to help them!
+Why do we need a week or month for breastfeeding?+
There are still many families who do not meet their breastfeeding goals because of a lack of support or bad breastfeeding information. We hope that World Breastfeeding Week and National Breastfeeding Month both work to change that reality so that everyone is making empowered and informed choices about how to feed their babies!
+How is LLL USA celebrating?+
LLL USA Leaders are hosting Live, Love, Latch
events all month to celebrate. Look up a Live, Love, Latch! event near you. Click here to learn more: https://lllusa.org/live-love-latch/
LLL USA is also celebrating another National Breastfeeding Month event at the end of August; LLL USA celebrates Black Breastfeeding Week from August 25-31 through in-person and digital events. There are LLL USA screenings of the documentary Chocolate Milk, as well as our own Facebook Live event that week on our La Leche League USA page!
+What can you do?+
You can attend an event, follow us on social media, and--most importantly--support breastfeeding amongst your friends, family, and local community! Happy World Breastfeeding Week!
