We hope you and your family are in good health. While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same; our commitment to your safety.
Our commitment to infection control has always been a top priority for our office over the past 30 years; covering the HIV epidemic, Hepatitis C & B, Encephalitis community outbreaks, as well as Tuberculosis. Our infection control policies and protocols are always up to date.
It's important to maintain and not to neglect one's gum/periodontal health during this period. For over 20 years, much research has shown oral periodontal neglect results in the body being in a hyper-inflamed state. This state is not conducent for the immune system to effectively deal with an infection either of a viral or bacterial origin. This is what I have based my entire professional care on, Symbiotic Dental-Medical care and treatment.
To help you to continue with maintaining your oral gingival health, we have taken additional measures for everyone's safety:
-Our office will communicate with you beforehand to ask some screening questions. You'll be asked those same questions again when you are in the office.
-Upon arrival to your appointment, we will take your temperature while you are in your car. Patients will then be escorted directly into the operatory.
-Upon completion of your appointment, you will exit through the side door. This will eliminate patients from coming in close contact or passing other patients in the office.
-You will see that our waiting room will no longer offer magazines, children's toys and so forth, and chairs are spaced at least 6 feet apart.
-Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients. That might mean that you're offered fewer options for scheduling your appointment.
-We will do our best to allow greater time between patients to reduce waiting times for you, as well as to reduce the number of patients in the reception area at any one time.
-We will leave an empty operatory room between patients for a full 15-feet separation.
-We have been using, since 2006, an in-the-mouth high speed suction device, Isolite, which reduces aerosols during dental restoration procedures by 90%.
-We look forward to seeing you again and are happy to answer any questions you may have about the steps we have taken to keep you safe in our practice.
We have started reaching out to patients to reschedule appointments. Priority will be given to patients who have been experiencing non-emergency issues followed by delayed delivery of dental prosthesis and finally, prior canceled appointments.
Thank you for being our patient. We value your trust and loyalty and look forward to welcoming back our patients, neighbors and friends.
Sincerely,
Dr. Carlson, Marilyn and Jannett
