✨This pose is called broken wing …✨
Have you ever done this pose? The name of it always fascinated me because it’s the most delicious pectoral stretch out there. But the name of it sounds almost sad. But maybe it’s more poetic than anything else. Because in order to open your heart most of us do need to break through the chains of trauma, fear and pain.

✨Yoga Shine cordially invites you to a pajama yoga and movie night! ✨
To celebrate the new season and shorter days come enjoy a wind down 30 min pajama flow with followed by a baked potato bar and then snuggle up on the mats for a family friendly movie. This entire event is free and for all ages and abilities.

There are frankly too many original members to list here. But these two smiling faces have been with us since the very first day/year! Welcoming me to their community and helping me welcome all of you to what became ours. This was taken at our last Chai and Vibe and it squeezed my heart that even though we are in a new building, have been through pandemic, fires and floods… we are still here together. I love this community so very much and I’m grateful beyond words for the OG members who have been practicing with us for so long!

Favorite yoga prop: the wall.
Working toward hand stands: wall. Working toward splits: wall. Working to calm your central nervous system: wall. Trying to learn to meditate: wall. Wanting to open your hips without straining your back: wall. Wanting to learn alignment in standing postures: wall. Wanting to get better at balance in a fearless way: wall.
Change takes time. But really change is constantly happening, it’s the only real constant. The question is are you changing the way you want to? Are you paying attention and celebrating the small changes and progressions you are making?

At yoga shine we try to make experiences as affordable as we can. I know many cannot afford to take the entire Ayurvedic retreat weekend with us, but we have opened the classes including this sound bath to anyone and everyone!
Not taking the retreat? No problem! Enjoy what you can: Friday 6 pm yin. Vata Gentle Flow on Saturday at 8:30 am. 4 pm sound bath ($20) and Sunday our free community flow at 10 am! All these classes will be designed around the shifting into autumn and taught by . We hope to see you there!

✨Another Advanced Yoga Teacher Training is ready for you to sign up!✨
This advanced yoga training will be part one of three weekends that will be focused on the vata season. (The other two weekends will take place during the kapha and pitta seasons and we will choose the weekends together).
This is a great training to take if you are wanting to learn ways to fill your own cup. It’s also a wonderful way to learn how to incorporate the seasons into your classes. This training will also help you better understand your students and how best to help them.
To sign up for this weekend go to our website abc and register for the Ayurvedic weekend workshop and then send me a DM, email or text that you are interested in the training portion.

✨Sunrise yoga at it’s finest ✨
Our gentle flow at 6:30 am on Tuesdays and Thursdays are such a treat for your mind and body. We started with fascia releasing using tennis balls around the head, neck and shoulders. Then some somatic movement for the neck, shoulders and spine. Followed by a dynamic flow opening up the the thoracic spine, shoulders, wrists and the side body. After that we moved the lymph around with some of my favorite wake up movements. Then we ended class with legs propped up and crystal bowls.
If all of that was magic enough … the sun created beautiful rainbow beams all over the room ✨
