You do not need to navigate postpartum alone. Bellevue Woman’s Center offers a free peer support group for moms, available both in-person and virtually.
Pam’s Why
“A support group can offer a safe space to connect with other postpartum woman experiencing similar feelings. I feel that it is important to normalize these feelings and know they are not alone. After the birth of my children, it would have been nice to have had an option to connect with other women.”

Kelsey’s Why
“My fertility, pregnancy, birth, and postpartum journeys were extremely difficult for me. We struggled getting pregnant, while I worked every day watching others have the baby of their dreams; I was so sick for my entire pregnancy, forever grateful for growing my daughter but never got to experience the glow; my birth ending in an emergency cesarean after laboring for 2 days; and then postpartum I was diagnosed with severe PPA, PPD, and almost being diagnosed with P-OCD. Postpartum was so incredibly lonely, and having a support group to help me through would have made an exponential difference in my mental health. I hope I can help someone in a way I would have benefitted from to be helped.”

Postpartum and in need of support? Bellevue Woman’s Center offers a free peer support group for moms—available both in-person and virtually.
Brittany’s Why 👇
“When I was pregnant with my first baby, I was young and the first among my friends to become a mom. There was so much I didn’t know, and I often felt like I had no one to relate to. Then my son ended up in the NICU, and a few weeks later, he was readmitted with additional health complications. My entire focus was on making sure he was okay—I never stopped to consider that I might need help too. Looking back, a support group would have been incredibly helpful. It would have given me a space to share my story and connect with others going through similar experiences.”

Bellevue Woman’s Center, a service of Ellis Medicine, is the region’s only inpatient facility dedicated to the care of women and infants - a trusted name in women's health for three-quarters of a century. Bellevue’s OB/GYN services include breast care, surgery, gynecologic care and maternity, and feature the region's first OB/GYN Hospitalist program to deliver enhanced care for pregnant women.
In 1931, Bellevue Maternity Home was founded by Mary Grace Jorgensen, a 28 year old registered nurse and mother. Following the death of Mary Grace Jorgensen, her daughter, Dr. Grace Gorgensen OBGYN succeeded her mother as president of Bellevue.
At the time, women generally gave birth at home, making Bellevue a one-of-a-kind institution. With six beds, and two nurses (one day, one night). It provided a safe, attended birth, with around the clock care. By the 1940s, Bellevue was referred to as “The Stork Club” by the community.
In 1973, Bellevue Maternity Home moved to the Bellevue Mansion and increased from 6 beds to 24. This year, 896 babies were born at the new location. In 2007, Ellis Medicine assumed responsibility of Bellevue Woman’s Center and we continued to grow and thrive in our community.
Bellevue Woman’s Center now has 42 private post-partum rooms, 10 labor and delivery rooms, several operating rooms, 12 bed Level II NICU, the Neil and Jane Golub Breast and Heart Center, Maternal Fetal Medicine, and ultrasound services.
