Sciatic pain can be frustrating—but there are simple things you can do at home to find relief and support healing:
🧘♀️ Stretch Daily
Gentle stretches like pigeon pose or hamstring stretches can reduce tension around the sciatic nerve.
🧊 Ice or Heat Therapy
Use ice packs for inflammation during flare-ups, and heat packs to relax tight muscles.
🛌 Sleep in a Supportive Position
Try lying on your side with a pillow between your knees or on your back with a pillow under your knees.
🚶 Stay Lightly Active
Prolonged sitting can make sciatica worse. Short walks or gentle movement can improve circulation and reduce stiffness.
🪑 Fix Your Posture
Sit with both feet on the floor, use lumbar support, and avoid slouching or crossing your legs.
🧘♂️ Try Deep Breathing or Relaxation Techniques
Stress and tension can increase pain sensitivity. Deep breathing or guided relaxation can help calm your nervous system.
⚠️ While these tips can provide relief, they don’t address the root cause. If your pain continues, chiropractic care can help correct what's causing it.
