This common winter task can be extremely dangerous. Cold temperatures combined with heavy physical exertion can place serious stress on the heart and increase the risk of a heart attack.

Know the warning signs:
Chest pain, shortness of breath, dizziness, or pain spreading to the arms, neck, or jaw are signals to stop immediately and call 911.

If you're at risk, consider hiring a snow removal service, using a snowblower, or asking for help.

Your driveway can wait - your heart can't. Take precautions and stay safe this winter.

WInter is peak time for CO poisonings, due to increased use of fuel burning devices. Snow drifts can block exhausts. Use care when shoveling out your vehicles.

This looks great πŸ‘
We truly appreciate residents who take a few extra minutes to clear snow away from fire hydrants. It’s not just helping your home, it helps your neighbors, too, by giving firefighters quick access to water in the event of an emergency.

πŸš’β„οΈ Want to show off your good work? We’d love to see it!
Share a photo of your hydrant dig-out in the comments and help spread the message.
