Katahdin Sheep and IPPs
Raising livestock can sometimes be a risky business, let alone, a learning experience. However, it can be a rewarding experience as well. Often it is not about the financial side of the business, but about the satisfaction and peace gained from just seeing God’s hand at work with new life being brought into life on the farm. For any animal, life can be brutal as they are exposed to the elements of weather and predators. Being a farmer that raises any livestock, we do our best to protect them and provide the nutrition they need, other than the the grasses they consume. The Hopping family has farmed for generations. Within the families we have cattle, geese, goats, chickens, sheep and pigs. Of course, one might also see a couple of horses, a huge Jack Mule, and a few dogs and cats. Parts of the family dabble in essential oils, herbs, making their own cream, butter, yogurt, grinding their own wheat for bread making, and so much more. If you have an interest in getting started with these incredible creatures on your own property, feel free to contact us.
