Yesterday I RESTOCKED fresh local organic 11th Hour Fire Cider to in Leiper’s Fork and had such a valuable conversation with the owner.
Her shop is full of beautiful, earthy home goods — but what I love most is the small grocery tucked in the back where she makes space for local food. Eggs, seasonal vegetables from her farm, and clean ingredient products from local makers.
Supporting local food isn’t always the easiest business decision. It often means tighter margins and more work sourcing small producers. But she chooses to do it anyway because she believes our community deserves access to real food.
That’s also why I’m very intentional about where my Fire Cider is placed. I don’t try to be in every store. I look for places that genuinely care about clean ingredients, supporting local growers and makers, and building community around food.
When you shop local, you’re doing more than buying something off a shelf.
You’re supporting farmers.
You’re supporting small producers.
You’re strengthening the community around you.
If you’re in Leiper’s Fork, stop by Patina and wander through the shop — and don’t miss the little grocery in the back that quietly supports local food.
Where we spend our dollars shapes the kind of food system and community we keep.
Be well friends!
