March is National Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month, dedicated to increasing screening rates, educating the public, and supporting patients. As the second-deadliest cancer in the U.S., it is highly preventable through early detection, such as colonoscopies starting at age 45. The month highlights symptoms and promotes screenings, which can detect and remove precancerous polyps.
Signs & Symptoms: Common symptoms include persistent constipation, diarrhea, blood in stool, abdominal pain, and unexplained weight loss.
As one of the most preventable cancers. Make sure that you eat healthy, avoid processed foods, shop the outer isles of the grocery and stay up to date on your screenings.
