It was an inspiring day filled with connection, advocacy, and celebration of the incredible work counselors do every day. LPC DAY Know Before You Go- TOMORROW MARCH 5, 2026 8:30AM

Location & Parking: The event will take place in Downtown Atlanta, and parking may be challenging. Please refer to the LPCA Transportation Guide on this page below, which lists nearby parking lots and MARTA stations. Keep in mind that parking or riding MARTA could involve a long walk outside, so plan accordingly.

Weather: It may be warm or cool outside, but please be aware that the inside of the Capitol can get warm with many people moving around. We recommend dressing in layers, but please note that there is no hat or coat check available, so you may have to carry your belongings for an extended period of time.

Security: You MUST bring a valid photo ID for entrance. There is only one entrance to the Capitol Building for security reasons, and a line will form outside of the doors as attendees are screened. Please be prepared for a wait outside of the doors. Additionally, there will be no signage allowed inside the building.

Event Location: Once inside the Capitol, make your way to the second floor near the south stairs for the event (Note: The North and South Stairs look very similar, however the North stairs have a statue of Oglethorpe. Please look for the stairs that do NOT have this statue).

Restrooms: Once you pass through security, turn right, then take the first left. Restrooms will be on your left.

Food & Water: There will be VERY limited food and beverage availability inside the Capitol, so we recommend bringing your own snacks and water.

What is LPC Day?
LPC Day is an opportunity to meet your lawmakers, advocate for the counseling profession, and highlight the vital role counselors play in Georgia’s mental health system. This is about being seen, heard, and represented.

Why Attend?
Many legislators still don’t fully understand what Professional Counselors do. As one of Georgia’s newer licensed mental health professions, LPCs are still working toward full recognition in state law. LPC Day ensures your voice is heard and your work is understood—so legislators know who you are, what you do, and why it matters.

🗳️ You vote for your legislators—make sure they vote for you, too.

When?
🕣 Thursday, March 5, 2026 | Approximately 8:30 to 12:00 PM (open to leave early)

Where?
📍 Georgia State Capitol Building
206 Washington St SW, Atlanta, GA 30334
Meet at the South Stairs—look for the LPCA tables!

Who Can Attend?
Everyone! LPCs, APCs, students, recent graduates, supervisors, clinical directors, professors, and counseling advocates are all welcome.

📸 South Stairs Photo Opportunity
This is only the THIRD LPC Day in Georgia’s history—and we want to fill the South Stairs! Join fellow counselors and legislators for our annual group photo and help make history.

👉 Come advocate. Come connect. Come be counted.
We can’t wait to see you there! 💛
