As we reflect on this past year, one truth stands out: when people come together to care for one another, entire communities are strengthened. At Community Alternatives, Inc., based in Norfolk, Virginia, we see that truth every day.

For over 45 years, our mission has been simple but profound — to support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities so they can live with dignity, independence, and belonging. Through our group homes and community-based programs, we provide safe housing, compassionate care, and opportunities that empower individuals to live full, meaningful lives.

This year alone, we have:
• Provided daily care and housing for a capacity of 44 adults who otherwise would have nowhere safe to turn.
• Supported individuals in gaining jobs, friendships, and greater independence.
• Partnered with families who now have peace of mind knowing their loved ones are cared for with respect and compassion.
