Our Story

TheraFUNction has evolved to now be known as TheraFUN. Our mission is to provide individualized, family-centered therapy in a playful environment through our caring and knowledgeable therapists. Therapy is always centered around "FUN", motivating your child to engage and interact to develop and learn new skills. All therapy at TheraFUN is very individualized and focuses on the potential of the child. We believe in the “Power of Play” and identify your child’s strengths and interests to drive our therapy forward.

TheraFUN provides comprehensive occupational, speech, and physical therapy services for infants and school-age children in our state-of-the-art sensory gyms specifically designed for children with sensory processing and regulatory disorders. TheraFUN also provides school therapy in several surrounding communities. Our therapists have advanced training in the areas of early intervention, Sensory Processing Disorders, Autism, ADD/ADHD, Dyspraxia, Apraxia, and other developmental, psychosocial, musculoskeletal, neurological, and learning disorders.

Sensory integration is at the core of all OT treatment with therapists certified in Ayres Sensory Integration and the DIR/Floortime model. Our physical therapist and speech therapists are also trained to identify and address sensory sessions every session to maximize the child’s potential. At TheraFUN, children are excited to come to therapy because it is centered around play and the individual interests of that child. A role we play as DIR/Floortime practitioners is to support the parent’s relationship with the child through ways to provide rich engagement and bonding. The relationship becomes the catalyst that drives therapy and advances skill levels with the wheels of problem solving being turned on. Social groups are a natural part of our therapy process with children developing long term relationships from their participation in therapy groups at TheraFUNction.

COVID-19 has challenged our therapists to learn a new platform of service delivery, Teletherapy. We are taking new referrals and continuing all of our current patients by this opportunity to be in their natural environment. Home programs are being strengthened and our children’s progress in the future will blossom because of our efforts and those of our families right now. We are their norm and we have not stopped in providing this norm. Our previous patients with emotional regulation issues and anxiety have reached back out to us during this time of uncertainty and this platform of therapy works well for those cases too. We want you to know that we are continuing to be a safe resource to all of our TheraFUN families and appreciate your efforts in continuing therapy by inviting us into your home.
