Sometimes it’s the simplest resources that make the biggest impact. The NRH Foundation is proud to support the addition of bariatric bedside commodes in PCCU, helping ensure every patient receives safe, timely, and dignified care.

By expanding access to the right equipment, our care teams can better support mobility, reduce risk, and create a more comfortable experience for patients who need it most. It’s a meaningful step toward more inclusive, compassionate care across our hospital.

Because of the generosity of our donors, meaningful improvements in patient care are happening every day through NRH Foundation grants.

One recent grant is making a direct impact on our Inpatient Wound Care team, and the wound care team sees an average of 35 patients every day! Funding for three new iPad mini devices is helping replace outdated equipment and giving nurses the tools they need to accurately photograph and document patient wounds and their progress.

With updated, reliable devices, our wound care nurses can:
✔ Capture high-quality images for better tracking of wound healing
✔ Detect complications earlier and improve patient outcomes
✔ Strengthen communication between care teams

Even more importantly, preventing just one hospital-acquired pressure injury can save thousands in costs, while protecting patients from serious complications. This is what donor support makes possible. That's a real impact!

From **Norman to Green Bay**, Steve Wood brings serious sports passion and a “get ‘er done” mindset to the NRH Foundation Executive Board.

Inspired by personal and family healthcare experiences, Steve is driven to make an impact at the community level because he believes we can (and should) take better care of one another. 🧀 A proud Sooner AND Cheesehead, you’ll find him cheering on his teams year-round… especially if it involves the Packers (bucket list: Super Bowl with Green Bay in the game.

Steve is all about pushing forward, making things happen, and figuring it out along the way. From working his way to a VP-level role at a Fortune 200 company to being a first-generation college graduate, Steve’s story is built on hard work, resilience, and strong support from faith, family, and friends.

Whether he’s in the boardroom or the stands, one thing’s certain, Steve shows up ready to contribute, connect, and win.

Grant Season Continues!🎉

Through the NRH Foundation and our amazing donors, we were able to support the Outpatient Physical Rehab teams by funding training for clinicians in dry needling, a technique targeting muscle pain and helps patients move more freely. Right now, access is limited, but this training will bring the service to more locations and more patients who need it in the Norman Regional community.

🎓 Have you applied for the NRHF Scholarship? Deadline of April 10th is approaching!

Applications for healthcare scholarships for 2026–2027 are open for 10 more days. Scholarships are awarded based on character, academic achievement, and financial need.

Eligible applicants include:
• Students who live or work in the Norman Regional Health System service area
• Students accepted into a healthcare-related program (university, college, or career tech)
• Undergraduate students accepted into a BSN or similar program
• Graduate students pursuing a healthcare-related degree

❗ Students still completing prerequisite or pre-med coursework are not yet eligible.

How to apply:
