We are so proud to celebrate the pharmacy department for both of its approved grant.

One grant supports specialized certification in antimicrobial stewardship, equipping our pharmacists with advanced training to ensure antibiotics are used safely and effectively while helping combat antibiotic resistance.

Another grant supports certification in sterile compounding, allowing pharmacy technicians to assist with preparing critical medications, including those used in NICU care and other specialized treatments.

🎓 NRHF Scholarship Applications Are Open!

The Norman Regional Health Foundation is now accepting applications for healthcare scholarships for 2026–2027.

💡 Scholarships are awarded based on character, academic achievement, and financial need.

📅 Deadline: April 10, 2026
📍 Finalist interviews: May 15, 2026

Eligible applicants include:
• Students who live or work in the Norman Regional Health System service area
• Students accepted into a healthcare-related program (university, college, or career tech)
• Undergraduate students accepted into a BSN or similar program
• Graduate students pursuing a healthcare-related degree

❗ Students still completing prerequisite or pre-med coursework are not yet eligible.

Meet Sam Talley, one of the NRH Foundation Board members who truly brings the energy wherever he goes! 🎉

Sam joined the NRH Foundation Board after being inspired by the Executive Team during his very first meeting. That enthusiasm hasn’t slowed down since. Whether he’s attending events, speaking at the reception celebration at the Healthplex, supporting staff or donors, Sam shows up with a smile and a willingness to jump in and help however he can.

Fun fact: Sam was named after his great-grandfather, Sam Hale, a well-known Norman character who owned Hale’s Clothing Store and lived here until 1965. His legendary personality has carried on!

When he’s not helping move the Foundation forward, you might find Sam:
🍬 Snacking on Jolly Ranchers and pretzels during TV time
🗽 Traveling to New York City
🍳 Cooking in the kitchen (a hobby that surprises a lot of people!)
✈️ Dreaming about spending a summer traveling through Europe

Sam says his team “superpower” is facilitating conversation and helping groups reach decisions, and anyone who’s worked with him knows he’s a natural at bringing people together.

But above all, his proudest accomplishment is personal: 21 years of a great marriage! Thank you, Sam, for the greatness you are pouring into the NRH Foundation, your family and our community.

The NRH System Foundation is proud to celebrate a meaningful grant awarded to our Case Management team, ensuring patients experiencing homelessness are discharged with warm, essential clothing during the winter months.

This initiative provides jackets, pants, shirts, socks, and shoes to individuals who would otherwise return to the streets without protection from the cold. By meeting this basic need, we are reducing the risk of hypothermia and illness while restoring dignity and security to some of our community’s most vulnerable neighbors. This grant reflects our commitment to compassionate, holistic care and strengthens our role as a collaborative partner in the Norman community.

One study finds that 1 in 3 teens can't get tampons or pads during their periods. The lack of access can increase the risk of infections, depression and missing school and social activities. Funding fulfills a critical need for feminine hygiene products in our local middle and high schools. Thanks to NRHS Volunteer Services Manager Liana Gray for writing this grant on behalf of the Junior League of Norman!

Tena Coppedge is a proud member of the Norman Regional Health Foundation Board, and we are grateful for her deep-rooted commitment to our community. As a multigenerational resident of Norman, it was important to Tena to give back in meaningful ways, both through her service and philanthropic support.

When she isn’t serving on the board, Tena enjoys spending time at the CrossFit gym or making memories with her family. Her dedication to community and balance between service and personal wellness truly embodies the spirit of the Foundation.

✨ Grant Season Is Here! ✨

Grant season is officially upon us, and the NRH Foundation is proud to kick things off by presenting a grant to Norman Regional’s Outpatient Infusion Center!

This grant will help enhance the patient entrance, creating easier access and a smoother experience for those receiving care. From the moment patients arrive, we want them to feel supported, safe, and valued. Improving access is just one more way we are working to remove barriers and strengthen patient care.

And this is just the beginning. This grant is one of many the NRH Foundation will be awarding throughout 2026 to support programs, services, and improvements that directly benefit our patients and community.
