Picky eating is often a normal part of development. 🍏

Many children go through phases where food preferences narrow, appetite changes, or new foods feel overwhelming. This doesn’t automatically mean your child isn’t getting what they need.

What matters most is:
• Growth over time
• Overall variety across days and weeks, not one meal
• A low-pressure, supportive approach at the table

Our goal is to help families build healthy habits without turning meals into a daily battle. If you have concerns about nutrition, growth, or feeding stress, we’re always happy to help guide you. 🫶🏼

Coming to the clinic is much easier when your child has their favorite companion by their side. It’s the simplest way to reduce anxiety and make the check-up a positive experience.

As a pediatrician, I love meeting all the bears, dolls, and dinosaurs that come through my door. It helps me bond with my patients and makes the “”scary”” tools feel a lot more approachable.

Pro-tip: Let your child know their toy is coming for a “”check-up”” too! 🧸🩺

Children don’t always say “this hurts.” 🤕

Pain looks different at every stage of childhood. Babies may cry, arch, or change feeding patterns. Toddlers might become clingy, irritable, or refuse activities they usually enjoy. Older kids may complain of stomachaches, headaches, or avoid school rather than clearly naming pain.

As pediatricians, we look at behavior, development, and physical cues to understand what your child may be experiencing. ❤️‍🩹

If something feels off, even if your child can’t explain it, it’s worth a conversation. Parents know their children best, and we’re here to help interpret what those signs might mean.

If you’ve ever watched the thermometer like it might magically move, you’re not alone. 🤒

Fevers can be stressful, but they’re often the body doing exactly what it’s supposed to do. When you’re unsure, we’re here to help you decide next steps. 🙌🏼

Not every skincare trend on Instagram is meant for kids or teens. 🧼

Children’s and teen skin has different needs, and using products that aren’t age-appropriate can do more harm than good. When it comes to protecting young skin, the most important step is still the simplest one: daily sunscreen. ☀️

If you’re unsure what products are right for your child or teen, your pediatrician can help guide you toward safe, effective skincare that actually supports healthy skin. 🙌🏼

Out of an abundance of caution with the incoming winter weather, we will be closing our clinic at Noon today, and we will not have our After Hours Clinic on Saturday or Sunday.

We know unexpected closures can be frustrating, but your safety matters most to us. Bundle up and stay warm ❄💙

🌐 The internet has information. Your pediatrician has context.

Online searches can’t see your child, hear their history, or understand what’s normal for their age, development, and medical background.

When you rely on your pediatrician instead of search results, you get:
• Guidance tailored to your child
• Medical advice grounded in training and experience
• Reassurance when something is normal
• Early action when something isn’t

Questions are always welcome here. You don’t have to figure it out alone. 🙌💙

A well-child visit is about so much more than height and weight. 🩺

At every checkup, your child’s pediatrician is monitoring growth patterns, development, behavior, sleep, nutrition, vision, hearing, and overall wellness. We are also looking for subtle changes that may not be obvious at home but can matter long-term. 🫶🏼

These visits help us:
• Track developmental milestones
• Identify concerns early, before they become bigger issues
• Answer questions you may not even know to ask yet
• Partner with you on prevention, not just treatment

Even when your child seems perfectly healthy, these visits play a key role in keeping them that way. 💚

🤱 Spit-up: When it’s Normal, When to Ask for Help

It’s totally normal for many babies to spit up after feeding. That’s because their digestive system — especially the muscle between the stomach and esophagus — is still maturing. Most babies outgrow frequent spit-ups by 9–12 months. But you should talk to a pediatrician if spit-ups are forceful or projectile, frequent after one year of age, accompanied by poor weight gain, discomfort, green or bloody fluid, or breathing difficulties.

If your baby seems happy, is gaining weight, and feeds well, they’re likely just a “happy spitter.” Keep feeding upright, burp often, and try smaller, more frequent meals, and check in with us if anything changes. 💙
