🤫💊 What Happens in the Pharmacy… Stays in the Pharmacy. 💊🤫

HIPAA (aka the “We Don’t Spill the Tea” law.) ☕🚫

The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA for short) is what keeps your medical information safe, secure, and absolutely not the topic of our lunch break conversation.

That means:
👀 We’re not telling your neighbor what prescription you picked up.
📞 We’re not shouting your medication across the store.
📋 We’re not sharing your info with anyone who doesn’t need to know.

So if you ever see us lower our voices, double-check ID, or ask a few extra questions… it’s not because we’re being dramatic. It’s because protecting our patients is part of the job.

Your prescriptions are safe.
Your information is safe.
And yes… we will absolutely pretend we didn’t hear anything if you overshare at the counter. 😅💙

Myth: You can take antibiotics with alcohol 🍺
Fact: It might make you feel worse… here’s why!

If you’re taking certain antibiotics, especially metronidazole, it’s important to skip the alcohol for a few days.

Medications like Metronidazole (also known by the brand Flagyl) can interact with alcohol and make you feel really rough.

Here’s what can happen when you mix them:
🤢 Nausea & vomiting
🔥 Flushing (feeling hot and red)
💓 Rapid heartbeat
🤕 Headache
😵 Dizziness

This happens because metronidazole can block the way your body breaks down alcohol, leading to a buildup that causes those unpleasant symptoms.

Even small amounts of alcohol (yes, even that one glass of wine 🍷) can trigger it. And it’s not just while you’re taking the medication - you should avoid alcohol for at least 48–72 hours after your last dose.

Your body is already working hard to fight infection. Let’s not make it work harder. 💪

From learning how prescriptions flow through the system… to understanding why accuracy matters down to the very last tablet… Arman is getting the full behind-the-scenes experience. And let’s just say — Dave doesn’t skip the pop quizzes. 😅

We love seeing teamwork like this. Pharmacy isn’t just counting pills — it’s problem-solving, patient care, double-checking, triple-checking, and making sure every person who walks through our doors feels taken care of.

Arman’s asking great questions. Dave’s sharing years of wisdom (and probably a few dad jokes). And we’re over here loving every minute of it.
