Jason Kyle Sparks

Jason Kyle Sparks, 48, of Choctaw, Oklahoma, passed away on December 16, 2025.

Jason was born on January 4, 1977, in Midwest City, Oklahoma, to Ken and Gayle Sparks, who survive him. He grew up surrounded by family and close friends Adam and Zach, and carried those close bonds with him throughout his life.

Jason was a devoted and new husband to Amanda Sparks and a loving father to Kyle, Kinley, and Kallie Sparks, and bonus father to Gracie, Madison, and Rocky Wright. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jimmy Sparks. Jason is survived by his nephew Jimmy Sparks Jr. (Jazmin) and his niece Desiree Hamilton (Tyler), and his great nieces and nephew.

Jason spent 10 years working at Map Energy, where coworkers became lifelong friends and family. He also worked alongside his father at Newpark Drilling in Clinton, an experience and car ride he treasured. In earlier years, Jason enjoyed his time at Blunk’s Photography, often sharing many funny stories from that chapter of his life.

Jason had a gift for finding a good bargain and loved spending time browsing Goodwill, thrift stores, and estate sales. He cherished game nights with his kids and parents, taking his children to the park, playing soccer in the backyard with Kallie, and grocery shopping with Kinley. Jason loved playing street fighter and catch with Kyle. He never missed a sporting event, activity, or milestone for his children or recently, his three bonus children. He enjoyed watching and quoting the Office. He had a unique talent for juggling and riding a unicycle, making us all laugh. He despised being cold. He loved to watch the sunrise, especially on the beach and drink coffee. He loved walking his dog Charlie. He loved a good snuggle on the couch and making our kids cringe. He loved spending time with Amanda, the love of his life, whether they were doing anything together or doing nothing at all.

Jason was known for his kind heart, thoughtful nature, generosity, and sense of humor. He was a devoted father and a steady, loving presence to all who knew him.

Jason loved the Lord and served faithfully every Sunday for many years at Life.Church Midwest City. Those he served alongside deeply loved and adored him.

A come and go Visitation will be held Monday, December 22, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Tribute Memorial Care, 4300 W Indian Hills Rd. Norman, OK. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 23, at Emmaus Baptist Church. Jason will be laid to rest next to his brother at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.

Jason’s life was one of love, faith, and devotion to family, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Jack Harold Duncan

Jack Harold Duncan went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 11, 2025 and is now reunited with the love of his life, Anita, in Heaven. He was born in Altus, Oklahoma on November 1, 1943 to Clyde and Stella (Campbell) Duncan, the youngest of seven siblings. He grew up in Altus and graduated from Altus High School in 1961 and from Altus Junior College. He then began a long career with Southwestern Bell which took him and his family to many places across Oklahoma until he settled in Norman while eventually working in Oklahoma City. He retired from Southwestern Bell in 1990 and then began a second career with Associated Communications & Research Services, where he finally retired in 2006.

Jack married Anita Deloris Pierce on October 6, 1962 in Martha, OK and they were together for a wonderful 62 years until her passing in August of this year. In January of 1964 they welcomed their first son, David, and one year later, Derrek. Jack was a wonderful example to his boys, never missing a day of work and taught them everything from auto mechanics to carpentry with a little hunting and fishing for fun. After his retirement, he picked up golf and all the other activities disappeared. He would play anytime, in any weather and with anyone and loved to take his grandchildren to the course. He loved his sons and his grandchildren, but his wife Anita held his heart. Over the years he expressed his love to her in so many sweet and tender ways from small gifts from every business trip to poems he wrote for her. Despite his declining health he continued to do so until she passed.

His greatest love was for his Heavenly Father, with whom he is rejoicing today. He was a faithful member of Bethel Baptist Church where he served on numerous committees, taught Sunday School, volunteered in the children and youth ministries and loved to go on visitation. Many eventual members mentioned that Jack coming to visit them was a big reason they came back.

Jack was preceded in death by his mother and father, his brothers James Duncan and Sam Duncan, and his sisters Bettye Brown and Bobbye Ebel. He is survived by his sister, Carolyn Duff of Altus, his brother and sister-in-law Jerry Don and Carole Duncan of Oklahoma City, his sister-in-law Eva Jackson of Mustang, his sons David and wife Marla of Norman, Derrek and wife Cher of Norman, his grandchildren Taylor Strange (Kolby) of Little Axe, Hailey Allen (Brody) of McKinney, TX, Kathryn Duncan of Norman, Elizabeth Duncan of Norman, Cadyn Duncan of Norman and Trace Duncan of Norman.

Funeral services for Jack Harold Duncan, age 82, will begin at 10:00am Thursday, December 18, 2025 in the Bethel Baptist Church, 1717 W. Lindsey St, Norman, OK with Pastor Matt Brown and Pastor Bruce Ingram officiating. The Duncan family will be present to greet friends at a come-and-go visitation on Wednesday, December 17, 2025 from 7:00pm to 8:30pm at Tribute Memorial Care, 4300 W. Indian Hills Road, Norman, OK.

Burial will immediately follow the church service in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery in Norman. Arrangements for Jack and his family have been placed in the care of Tribute Memorial Care of Norman.

She graduated from Junction City High School in 1959 and received her diploma RN from Marymount College in Salina, Kansas in 1962. She later went on to obtain her BSN from the University of Oklahoma in 1992. Jan had a fulfilling career as a surgical nurse, later a bedside nurse caring for patients in labor & delivery, newborn nursery, finishing in PACU. Ralph was in the Air Force, which took them to many places across the US including Mississippi, Oklahoma, Ohio, Nebraska, Florida, then back to Oklahoma.

Her life’s focus was her family. She became a master at cooking, gardening and sewing. She even tried golfing with Ralph for a short time. Later in life, she found success as a writer. She is the published author of two award winning Bible based children’s books: “Smokey, The Gentle Guardian,” and “Smokey, and the Great Escape.” A quiet prayer warrior, Jan considered her legacy to be an ever-increasing family committed to Christ.
