Pronounced: PIH-tri
Meaning: Ancestors, forebears, those who came before.
In yoga philosophy, our Pitṛs are the lineage behind us — the ones whose breath became ours.
Bloodline, spiritual, and chosen ancestors all walk with us.
This week, we honor their stories, their sacrifices, and the love that still lives in our bones.

But it’s more than politeness — it’s vibration.
Each Dhanyavād carries a frequency of appreciation that bridges the seen and unseen, the giver and receiver.
When you whisper Dhanyavād, feel your breath warm your heart.
You’re saying, “I see you. I honor you. I am grateful for this shared moment.”
Let that be your mantra this week — on the mat, at your altar, and in the quiet spaces between.
💬 Practice: Say “Dhanyavād” three times when you wake, and three times before sleep.

As we dedicate this week to embracing grief and loss, Karuna becomes our guiding light. It reminds us not only to offer compassion to others who are suffering but, crucially, to offer it to ourselves as we navigate our own difficult emotions.
