Hypermobility! What is it? 🙆🏼♀️🧘🏻♀️
Hypermobility means that some of your joints move beyond the normal range of motion — they’re “looser” or more flexible than average
Common signs:
- Frequent joint “popping”
- Muscle fatigue or aches
- Flexible joints but tight, overworked muscles
Here’s how chiropractic care can help:
🦴 1. Improve joint stability
The goal is to stabilize joints that move too much. Chiropractors use gentle, controlled adjustments only where there’s true restriction — avoiding areas that are already hypermobile.
💪 2. Support muscle strength and control
Through rehab exercises, we can help strengthen the stabilizing muscles around hypermobile joints.
🧠 3. Enhance proprioception
We use specific movement training and balance work to retrain proprioception, helping the body better sense where joints are in space.
⚖️ 4. Address compensation patterns
Because hypermobile joints move too much, other areas often tighten up to protect them. Soft tissue work and needling can help release overactive muscles!
Did you know Dr. Mason offers rehabilitation exercises and soft tissue work to help with this?
