Today, we honor Juneteenth — a celebration of freedom, resilience, and the ongoing pursuit of equity.
At Revu Healthcare, a proudly minority women-owned healthcare compliance firm, this day holds deep significance. It’s a reminder that the freedom we celebrate today was hard-won through generations of courage, resistance, and unyielding hope.
We reflect on the words of Rosa Parks, "I would like to be remembered as a person who wanted to be free... so other people would also be free." Her legacy, and the legacy of so many who came before us, paved the way for us to not only dream — but to build, to lead, and to own.
Juneteenth marks the day — June 19, 1865 — when enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas, finally learned they were free, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed. It’s more than a historical milestone; it’s a call to action to continue pushing for justice, opportunity, and freedom in all its forms.
We stand on the shoulders of those who fought for our right to be here — to thrive, to speak up, and to run a business rooted in purpose and progress. Today, we honor their legacy and recommit to using our platform to empower others and advocate for equity in healthcare and beyond.
Happy Juneteenth. Freedom is not just a moment in history — it’s a movement we carry forward every day.
