Dear Friends and Family,

As I look forward to the new year, I have been reflecting on what I truly need in order to feel grounded, healthy, and whole again. Over time, I’ve realized that social media, though filled with connection and entertainment, has also caused me stress, self-doubt, and distraction from what matters most: my mental and emotional wellbeing.

So this year, I’m choosing me.

My New Year’s resolution is to step away from social media and devote more time to my mental health, personal growth, and inner peace. I want to create room to breathe — to quiet the noise, release unhealthy comparisons, and break free from the pressure to always be available or “okay.”

I’m ready to focus on healing, self-love, and rediscovering what brings me genuine happiness. I want to build habits that support my mind and spirit: journaling, being outdoors, resting without guilt, and connecting with people in ways that feel real and meaningful. I want to be more present in the moments that shape me, instead of watching them pass by while I scroll.

This decision isn’t about disappearing — it’s about showing up more fully in my own life.

If you need me, I’m just a call or a visit away. I would truly love to connect more personally — through real voices, real hugs, and real conversations that feed the heart.

Thank you for understanding this step I’m taking to protect my peace and prioritize my wellbeing. I hope this new year brings you healing, joy, courage, and the space to care for yourself too. Here’s to growth — messy, beautiful, and absolutely worth it.

Happy New Year — may we all find the healthiest, happiest versions of ourselves.

With hope and love,
Edna

For those of you who don't understand the profound impact of losing a spouse, know that when you deeply love someone, you both exchange pieces of your soul. This sacred bond is what makes soulmates so extraordinary. Losing your partner is not just the death of one person, but the death of two, as the piece of soul they shared with you returns to them. Before saying you understand someone's grief, remember that you can only truly empathize if you've walked in their shoes through this darkness. May God comfort us all.

💔 From My Heart… Please Read

This is one of the most challenging yet empowering moments I’ve ever had to share. As some of you may know, I’ve been blessed to run this webpage, a labor of love that has connected us in our shared mission to uplift one another. For many years, we’ve worked together to help those in need, and I’m humbled by the impact we’ve made. I started this webpage after my husband’s passing, driven by a passion to share what little I had, ensuring others were okay. This has always been my way of spreading love and faith.

With over 13,000 followers, I envision the incredible difference we can make together. If each of you could donate just one dollar, imagine the ripple effect of kindness! I promise to pay it forward, supporting other widows who, like me, face uncertain times without their husbands. As someone who has navigated life’s challenges, including the government shutdown, I understand the fear and resilience required to persevere.

As I sit here in my power wheelchair, a constant companion due to multiple sclerosis and rheumatoid arthritis, I’m reminded that even in the darkest moments, there’s always hope. Though I’m struggling, I know I’m not alone. My cupboards may soon be empty, but my heart remains full of faith in our collective power to uplift one another.

So I ask, with humility and gratitude, if anyone can help — even a little — it would mean the world to me. Every bit matters. A few dollars, a share, anything helps right now. 🙏❤️

“The Woman in the Wheelchair”

She sits by the window, where the sunlight fades,
Its fingers trembling on her thinning hands.
The world hums past in hurried parades,
And she—unnoticed—simply stands
In memory, though her body stays still,
Bound by metal, by silence, by will.

Her eyes are rivers no one sails,
Her stories folded like fragile lace.
Time has brushed her into pale,
A whisper lost in a crowded place.
Names she once knew drift like smoke,
Letters unwritten, promises broke.

Yet in the hush between each breath,
She tends to ghosts that time forgets—
A child’s laugh, a lover’s death,
A song she hums that no one gets.
Invisible, yes—but not undone;
She carries whole lives in a single one.

And maybe, someday, someone will see
That quiet isn’t emptiness—
It’s history.

The Quiet Years”

The clock no longer hurries now,
its hands move soft, without intent.
The house remembers every vow,
each whisper, laugh, and argument.

The chair still leans where you once sat,
a hollow in the cushion stays.
The kettle hums—too much, for that—
and silence fills the empty days.

I speak sometimes, though none reply,
the echo answers, kind and low.
The world spins on, the seasons fly,
but here, the hours drift and slow.

There’s peace in learning to be still,
to find a friend in memory’s grace.
And though the nights can bite with chill,
I warm them with your ghost’s embrace.

So let me age, and let me be,
a tree grown gnarled, but deeply sown.
For love once lived inside of me—
and that is how I’m not alone.

Grief is one jumbled up mess of emotions. We ride this roller coaster every day never knowing where it’s going to take us.

✨ After they are gone, life may look the same on the outside, but your heart knows everything has changed. Be gentle with yourself—healing isn’t about rushing forward, it’s about learning to carry love in a new way.

🕯️If for some reason you don't have a memorial site for your lost loved ones, make one to honor their memory and express your love.

It’s easy to feel defeated when experiencing deep, inconsolable grief. Remind yourself often you’re doing the best you can and that’s good enough.
