Feeling stuck or low on energy? Post-holiday drain can manifest both physically and mentally. This may not be the best time to try to train hard or try something exhausting or brand new.

This may be the time to move gently and with intention. regardless of how you feel beforehand, you will certainly feel better having taken a few minutes to move your body. Your mood will thank you, too.

I’ve got three gentle movement choices you can try—pick the one that fits for you today.

1) Restorative stretch: 5–10 minutes of deep breaths and slow lengthening to melt tension.

2) 10-minute walk: fresh air and rhythm to reset your mood.

3) Low‑impact mini strength set: 2 sets of 10 squats, plank, arm circles, and glute bridges for steady rebuild.

Think of these like different shoes for different walks—no one right fit.

I use habit-based coaching and training to help my clients make these purposeful tiny moves stick and pair them with practical nutrition that supports recovery.

Post-Holiday Green Smoothie

If you're looking for an anti-inflammatory green smoothie recipe that uses healthy, everyday ingredients and tastes good, this is it. This is a great breakfast or snack if you're feeling a little sluggish post-holiday!

Ingredients

1 1/2 cups almond milk
2 cups spinach
1 granny smith apple cored and sliced
1/2 cup pineapple frozen
1 tbsp h**p seeds
1 tsp chia seeds
1/2 tsp turmeric
1 tsp coconut oil
1/8 tsp pepper

Instructions

Add the almond milk and spinach to a high-speed blender and blend. I find that if you blend the spinach and liquid before you add the rest, you won’t find pieces of spinach in your smoothie.

Add the rest of the ingredients and blend until smooth.

Notes

Not sweet enough? Try a little honey or maple syrup a teaspoon at a time until you reach your desired sweetness.
