St. Luke North Canton marked the holiday season with a festive employee party on December 17th.

Team members enjoyed a delicious Olive Garden meal, shared plenty of laughs, and took time to celebrate the dedication and compassion that define our community. Moments like these highlight just how grateful we are for every person who helps make St. Luke a warm and supportive place.

Yesterday’s visit from GlenOak High brought true musical brilliance to St. Luke North Canton. Their voices and instruments filled the room with the kind of beauty you’d expect in an opera house.

Our residents were captivated, smiling, and completely immersed in the moment. Live music like this encourages relaxation, sparks memory, and builds emotional connections that last long after the last note fades.

At 101½ years young, Evelyn is the proud matriarch of four generations and a remarkable part of our community’s history.

A 1943 Greentown High School graduate, she began her work at Hoover before stepping away when she was expecting, a common practice of the time. In 1948, she met Larry, who announced on their first meeting that he intended to marry her. Together, they built a beautiful life until his passing, raising two children, traveling, and creating cherished memories.

Evelyn later retired as a secretary from Zion Lutheran Church, where she remains the oldest living member. Her connection to St. Luke is especially meaningful; her mother was one of our founding members. Long before St. Luke opened, Evelyn and her mother hosted penny dinners to help raise funds and support the dream of a community that Evelyn now calls home.

Her life is a testament to perseverance, devotion, faith, and an enduring family legacy.
Evelyn’s story continues to inspire all of us at St. Luke North Canton. 💛✨

🎭✨ Meet WP, a resident at St. Luke North Canton, who has led an extraordinary life filled with music, Broadway, and unforgettable moments.

Growing up in Akron, WP’s love for music was sparked by his mother, a well-known vaudeville singer. His upbringing surrounded by stories, songs, and vibrant characters helped shape his artistic heart.

WP’s Broadway journey began in 1967 and spanned over two decades, culminating in his final performance in Oliver! in 1988. Along the way, he earned a Tony Award nomination for his role in Jesus Christ Superstar and shared the stage with iconic figures, including Salvador Dalí.
WP’s personal life was just as remarkable as his career. He met his husband, Joseph, “across a crowded room,” and their love story defied the boundaries of their time.

WP continues to share his rich legacy, and we’re honored to feature him as our resident this week. 💖
