I’m Mary Mac, owner of Healing Hour Therapy, LLC. I’m a trauma specialist & certified EMDR Therapist committed to helping you thrive, not just survive. I support individuals, couples, children & families. I have over 10 years of experience ranging from psychiatric care at MUSC, crisis counseling to school counseling. I proudly support the LGBTQ+ community, anti-racism, anti-xenophobia, & reproductive rights for all.

I specialize in treating Trauma, C-PTSD, PTSD, Anxiety Disorders, Panic Disorders, Family Conflict, Behavioral Issues, Anger & Stress Management, School Issues, Self-Harming, and Suicidal Ideations.

From day one, I teach real, practical coping skills for lasting change. Together, we’ll peel back the layers of your story in a judgment-free zone, heal the root of your pain, and move forward with compassion, humor, and evidence-based care. You’re not alone—I’m here to help you rediscover your strength. Therapy doesn’t have to be scary!

I appreciate a combination of evidence-based modalities such as EMDR, CPT, CBT, TF-CBT, coupled with holistic mind-body connection techniques that include somatic breath work, art therapy, tapping, guided meditations & other tricks for calming a racing mind or body. I’m here to be in your corner!

I earned my B.S. in Psychology from the College of Charleston in 2014, my Master of Social Work from The University of South Carolina in 2017, and I am a Doctoral Candidate at the University of Kentucky 2025.

We want to take a special moment to thank our amazing therapists. 💜

You change lives every day, sometimes in the quietest of ways. You hold space for healing, which is a skill that can’t be learned but comes naturally from a place of authenticity.

You are all rock stars! Happy mental health awareness month!

About Missa:

Hi, my name is Missa. I work with individuals facing a variety of obstacles, including trauma, shame, addiction, questions about s*xuality and gender identity, religious trauma, and the search for deeper self-acceptance. As part of the LGBTQ community, I understand firsthand the importance of an affirming space to explore your experience. Whether you’re navigating the complexities of who you are, or struggling to find your place in a world that often feels unwelcoming, I am honored to walk alongside you every step of the way.

I am trained in EMDR and have experience with a variety of other modalities including CBT, ACT, and MI.

I offer telehealth services for residents of South Carolina and California, and in-person services for Charleston, SC residents.

Whether you’re seeking to heal from past wounds, explore your identity, or simply find joy in who you are, I offer a non-judgmental and safe space where you can feel heard, understood, and empowered. Together, we can work toward cultivating a life of deeper self-compassion, authenticity, and lasting joy.
