“Deductibles — Let’s Break It DOWN!”
What’s a Deductible?
Your deductible is the amount you pay first before your insurance starts pitching in. The deductible applies to all covered health services.
Example:
If your deductible is $1,000, you’ll cover your visits until you hit that number.
After that? Your insurance starts helping with the bill — and your out‑of‑pocket cost usually drops.
Why It Matters
Early in the year, many patients notice they’re paying more per visit.
That’s not us — that’s your deductible doing its thing.
Once it’s met, your cost per visit often becomes MUCH lighter.
After the Deductible
Your plan may switch to:
• A copay (flat fee), or
• Coinsurance (a percentage of the visit cost)
