Your back pain isn’t a back problem.

It’s a hip problem. A thoracic problem. A “your body can’t do what your swing demands” problem.

That’s why the adjustments wear off. That’s why the stretching helps for a day. That’s why it’s always worse on the back nine.

Can’t rotate through the golf ball? And wondering why you have back pain?

Try this:
👉 Sit on the floor in the 90/90 position. Left leg forward, right leg back. Can you sit upright without your hands? Switch sides.

If one side drops, collapses, or your glute cramps immediately — your hip rotation is limited and cannot withstand load under pressure.

That limitation shows up in your swing AND your lower back.

This is one of the first things I check in every golfer’s performance diagnostic at Revolve.

Knee pain that shows up at the front of your knee — especially when running, going downstairs, or squatting — is one of the most common complaints I see in runners, soccer players, and youth athletes.

Most people either push through it, rest and hope it goes away, or get told to “just stretch your quads.”

None of that addresses why it’s happening.

The Spanish squat is one of my go-to tools for anterior knee pain because it loads the quad through a fuller range of motion while taking stress off the patellar tendon. It builds strength at the exact position where most athletes break down — and it does it without the compensations you see with a traditional squat when someone is stiff or weak in the right places.

Here’s what makes it work:
→ Heels stay flat (no weight shift forward)
→ Band or strap anchors you at the knees, not your torso
→ You control the depth based on your current tolerance
→ It’s a loaded exercise, not just a stretch

This is one piece of a bigger picture. If your knee pain keeps coming back no matter what you try, there’s a root cause we haven’t found yet — and that’s exactly what we do here.

Part 2: Here’s what ACTUALLY caused their acute Low Back Pain 👇

Most people with low back pain are told to “stretch their hamstrings” or “strengthen their core” 🙄

But here’s what we found with this client:
❌ Their back wasn’t the problem
✅ Poor hip mobility was causing compensation
✅ They couldn’t properly brace and engage their core

The result? Their lower back was overworking to compensate for what their hips and core SHOULD be doing.
