The Quell Foundation Inc. The Quell Foundation creates a paradigm shift in the care and treatment of people with mental health Advancing training. Bridging gaps in care.

The Quell Foundation serves the public with an intense commitment to:

Fostering awareness. The Quell Foundation aims to educate communities and individuals about the disparities in care and effective treatment protocols afforded to the vulnerable and stigmatized population with mental illness. We strive to definitively reduce the number of suicides, drug overdoses, and the incarceration of our ve

terans and local community members who suffer with a treatable mental illness. The Quell Foundation endeavors to decriminalize mental illness through advanced training programs designed to offer first responders specialized skills to better recognize and intervene in behavioral, mental and emotional crisis. The Quell Foundation breaks barriers and expands access and the delivery of mental health care services caused by the dearth of mental health care providers. Increasing the talent pipeline through scholarship awards, and advocating for legislative reformation to extend the scope of services provided by clinical behavioral health professionals are essential to achieving our mission.

The Quell Foundation is proud to introduce the first-ever Lift the Mask Film Festival! 🎥

We’re inviting filmmakers to share short films that explore mental health through lived experience, reflecting both struggle and healing, and helping shift how we understand ourselves and each other.

We’re looking for work that is honest, thoughtful, and grounded in real experiences. Stories that open the door for more real conversations. If it leaves an impact, it belongs here.

There’s a lot of pressure to always be doing something, always moving, always producing, always staying in motion.

But sometimes the most important thing you can do is slow down and take a step back. That space matters more than we give it credit for. 💙

Health isn’t experienced the same by everyone, and neither are the barriers. Access, trust, and stigma can shape how people show up, speak up, or stay silent.

This month is about recognizing those differences and continuing the work to make mental health care more inclusive and accessible for all.

Visibility is more than being seen. It’s about being acknowledged, respected, and valued.

On International Transgender Day of Visibility, we’re holding space for the transgender community and the importance of continuing to listen, learn, and show up better. 🏳️‍⚧️

Last week, The Quell Foundation headed down to Lynn University to get an update from the the Crisis, Resilience, and First Responder Trauma Advisory Council (CRAFT-AC).

Hearing how this work is already showing up in practice, and seeing the First Responder Resilience Project integrated into the clinical mental health counseling graduate program, with a concentration in first responder care, brought real perspective to the impact.

We also had the opportunity to introduce the FRRP training modules to the CRAFT-AC cohort, continuing to build on a curriculum shaped over the past three years by first responders, clinicians, and educators. The focus has always been clear: create something practical, relevant, and truly useful.

We are truly grateful for the collaboration behind this work and for the people carrying it forward.

Our Story

The Quell Foundation strives to reduce the number of suicides, overdoses, and the incarceration of people living with a mental health illness. We work to accomplish this by encouraging people to share their stories, increasing access to mental health services, providing a pipeline of future mental health care professionals with scholarships, and training first responders to recognize mental health crisis warning signs amongst their own.

There’s a severe stigma associated with mental health illness that prevents those closest to us from getting the help they need. By promoting open, judgment-free dialogue, together we can shatter the stigma and normalize the conversation around mental health.
