Heart Health & Whole-Body Wellness
February is American Heart Month, a dedicated time to raise awareness about cardiovascular health and encourage actions that prevent heart disease, the leading cause of death in the US. Adopting healthier lifestyles through diet, exercise, and education.

Your heart doesn’t work alone—it’s guided by your nervous system. When the spine is under stress, communication between the brain and body can be disrupted, impacting how the heart and blood vessels function. Chiropractic care focuses on improving nervous system balance, which research suggests may help support healthier blood pressure levels as part of a holistic lifestyle approach.

Heart-Healthy Tips for Families & Parents:
• Prioritize daily movement (walking, stretching, play)
• Choose whole, colorful foods rich in fiber and healthy fats
• Support quality sleep and stress reduction
• Practice deep breathing to calm the nervous system

Herbal Support (Always Use with Guidance):
Herbs like hawthorn, garlic, and hibiscus are traditionally used to support cardiovascular health and circulation.
*Disclaimer: Herbal supplements are not a substitute for medical care and should always be discussed with your healthcare provider—especially if you take medications or have a heart condition.*

How Chiropractic Fits In:
Chiropractic care supports spinal alignment and nervous system regulation, helping the body shift out of chronic stress (fight-or-flight) and into a more balanced state. A calmer nervous system can support healthy vascular tone and overall cardiovascular function.
Chiropractic care does not replace medical treatment for heart disease or high blood pressure. Always work with your primary care provider for diagnosis and management.
Your heart deserves support—from the inside out.

Understanding the Webster Technique

The Webster Technique is a specific chiropractic approach used during pregnancy to support pelvic balance and nervous system function.

Rather than focusing directly on baby positioning, the Webster Technique works to reduce tension and imbalance in the pelvis and surrounding soft tissues—creating more comfort and optimal space for pregnancy to progress naturally.

Potential benefits of the Webster Technique may include:
• Supporting pelvic balance and alignment
• Reducing tension in the hips, low back, and sacrum
• Encouraging overall comfort during pregnancy
• Supporting the body’s ability to adapt as baby grows
• Promoting nervous system balance during pregnancy

Is it safe?
Yes. When performed by a chiropractor trained in the Webster Technique, care is gentle, pregnancy-specific, and always tailored to the individual. Specialized positioning and techniques are used to prioritize comfort and safety.

The Webster Technique is not about forcing change—it’s about supporting the body so it can function at its best during pregnancy.

Have questions about pregnancy chiropractic care or the Webster Technique? We’re happy to help.

Potential benefits of chiropractic care during preconception may include:
• Supporting nervous system regulation and stress response
• Encouraging balanced pelvic and spinal movement
• Promoting overall comfort and mobility
• Helping the body adapt more efficiently to future physical changes

Preconception care is deeply personal, and chiropractic is not about “forcing” outcomes—it’s about creating a supportive foundation for your body to do what it’s designed to do.

2,482 Days.

I’ve been putting off writing this because then somehow it becomes more real? 🤔 It has now been 9 days since I have breastfed or pumped any milk. 9 whole days. I wasn’t sure when we would get here and honestly I’ve been putting it off because I know Maya is my last baby. All of her firsts have been my lasts. 🥺🩷

I’ve felt guilty for the last few months knowing I would wean her sooner than the others. Knowing how attached she was to me and to nursing made it even harder. For both of us though, I knew we needed to stop. She and I discussed it for weeks, I had several big cries about it, and I questioned how people put 2 year olds to bed without a b**b. 😅

By all accounts this seemed like one of the hardest decisions, albeit necessary, I’ve had to make as a parent. I’ve worked hard to not give each subsequent child less than the one before but with this it’s become apparent that a worn down body simply has less to give. So I allowed Maya to nurse all through the night and her final nurse was in the wee hours of the morning after her 2nd birthday. I kept her awake, without nap, all day and prepared for a LONG first night. She fussed a bit when I told her no more nurse, and required that I hold her all night, but she quickly fell asleep!🙌🏼

I NEVER would have imagined what was to follow… this toddler that had been screaming (think blood curdling) for 45+ minutes a night, stopped only by physically scaring her out of it, and who took 2-3 hours to get to sleep each night was AMAZING! She talked herself to sleep! She plays with us at bedtime and no longer screams at me at all for bedtime 🤯 We both have been so much happier at bedtime and throughout the night. I’m not sure how breastfeeding became this thing that was holding us back but I’m so glad I found the strength to stop so I could officially meet this funny, kind, and loving soul that everyone else has known these last two years!

It was a hard thought, a massive change. I’ve been breastfeeding at least one child for nearly 7 years now and 2 babies for more than half of that. For 2,482 days my body has nourished 4 beautiful children. 💕 Stopping meant that I don’t have babies anymore and that I am in a new phase of motherhood. One where I have big kids. One where I learn to reclaim my body and my health so that I can be the best version of myself for them and for me. One where I learn that it’s okay to put my needs first once in awhile. 🧘🏻‍♀️

I’ve loved my breastfeeding journey, and I couldn’t be more proud of it, but if an abrupt ending like this shows me (and hopefully you) anything… it’s that every child, every breastfeeding journey, is incredibly unique and uniquely yours 🤍

Thank you to this body for an amazing 2,482 days 💙💜💛🩷

Chiropractic Care & the Vagus Nerve: Why It Matters for Parents

If you feel like your nervous system is always “on,” you’re not alone. Parenting often keeps the body stuck in go-mode—short sleep, constant demands, and very little time to reset.

The vagus nerve helps signal calm. It plays a role in stress regulation, digestion, mood, and the body’s ability to rest and recover.

Chiropractic care supports the nervous system by encouraging healthy spinal movement and communication between the brain and body.

For parents, this support may help:
• Feel calmer and more regulated
• Improve digestion during stressful seasons
• Support better sleep and recovery
• Help shift out of fight-or-flight and into rest

When your nervous system feels supported, everyday parenting challenges can feel more manageable—and you don’t have to be in survival mode all the time.

Gentle chiropractic care is one way to support your body while you take care of everyone else.

Ice Safety Matters!

Icy sidewalks, driveways, and parking lots can turn a normal winter day into a risky one. Slips and falls are more common this time of year, and even minor falls can place stress on the body.

If you do slip or fall, pay attention to how your body feels in the days that follow. Even without immediate pain, the spine and joints can take on hidden stress.

Chiropractic care can help support movement, alignment, and recovery after winter slips—so you can stay active and confident through the season☺️

Stay safe, stay steady, and take winter one step at a time.

⏰ Valuing Time — Yours & Ours ⏰

We aren’t thrilled to be posting this but these past few months we’re having 2 and 3 no shows a day with 6 or more last minute cancellations. We’re going to start to enforce late cancellation policies in hopes that it helps us put an end to this trend.

At our office, we deeply value the time of every family we care for—and that includes your time as well as our team’s.

When appointments are missed or canceled last minute, it prevents another patient from receiving care and impacts the time we’ve reserved just for you.

✨ Our commitment:
• We schedule thoughtfully to provide unrushed, attentive care. We will never rush you out our doors
• We reserve appointment times specifically for each patient
•We provide discounts when we’re unable to be as timely as we’d like
• We respect your time and ask the same in return

🤍 What we ask:
• Please reschedule appointments as early as possible if plans change
• No-show or late cancellation fees may apply when notice isn’t given($40)
• Clear communication helps us care for more families

We understand that life happens—especially with kids, work, and busy schedules. Timely communication helps us support everyone better and keeps our practice running smoothly.

Thank you for respecting our time and helping us care for our community with intention and fairness. 💛
