On December 10, 2025, Wanda Bryant peacefully journeyed to her forever home, the Beautiful City of God.

Born March 18, 1936, to William Herbert and Myrtle Elizabeth Milam in Witt Springs, Arkansas; she was the sixth of eight children. She grew up on the family farm and attended school at Witt Springs until her graduation in 1953, at the age of 17. After graduation she would move close to family in St. Louis, Missouri, where she began working at Famous Bar department store until she landed an office job. Always bright and ambitious, she eventually moved to Eureka, California, and began her career as a "bookkeeper" as they were commonly known at this time. She always treasured her time in California and made many great memories; she always remarked that La Jolla was her favorite place in California. By 1957, she had returned to Arkansas, where she would meet the love of her life, Frank Bryant. They were married August 31, 1957, and would have two children by 1962. She cherished her role as a mother, not only to her own children but also a bonus mom to many nieces, nephews, and many other children.

A woman ahead of her time, she worked in various positions in the accounting field, sometimes for companies but would eventually open her own accounting office with a partner. At the age of 50, she decided to try Real Estate. Beginning at Real Estate Central in 1986 she forged a new career and would continue selling for the next 25 years. Her earthly JOY was complete when she and Frank became grandparents. Known as "Yanya and Big Daddy", she would describe the grandchildren as her crowning glory. She spent quality time with them and never missed an event, just as with her own children. While God didn't allow the opportunity to really know her great grandchildren, we can only imagine her exhilaration.

Wanda will be remembered by her entire family as an example of the Proverbs woman, not perfect but always striving to follow the example of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ by serving others. The final years of her life were not easy, she lost her words but yet, Jesus shined in her heart and beamed from her face. At the time of her death, Wanda was a member of Central Baptist Church in North Little Rock. Previously, she attended other local churches, where she served faithfully in various roles. She was best known for teaching Sunday School and sharing her knowledge of the Bible.

Wanda is reunited in heaven with her husband, Charles Franklin ''Frank'' Bryant, her parents, her brothers, Gerald Milam, Winfred Milam, Dolphus Milam, and Carson Milam, and her sister, Betty Milam Loftin.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Charles Terry Bryant; daughter, Lana Bryant Martin (Bruce); grandchildren, Brooks Martin and Cole Martin (Chandler); and great grandchildren, Cache Knight, Navy Kate Martin, and Knox Martin; as well as her brother, Dempsey Milam; and sister, Jean Milam Owen; and many other beloved family members and friends.

The family would like to thank the wonderful Certified Nursing Assistants at Evergreen Living Center. These wonderful ladies became her family when we could not be there. Words cannot express our gratitude. Wanda loved flowers, but she loved people more. She was always faithful to visit those in hospitals and long-term care. Thank you to the outreach from First Baptist Church in Bryant for the cards and visits these past years. The acts of kindness from these wonderful ladies meant so much. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Friends in Deed, a ministry of First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 267 Bryant, Arkansas 72089

12/26/2025

Mary Jo Mooney Hembrock slipped quietly into the arms of her Savior on December 22, 2025, at the age of 91. Born on December 15, 1934, in Wayton, Arkansas, she was raised by her parents, Walsie and Claud Hylton, and lived a life marked by gentle, steadfast love that will echo through generations.

Mary Jo carried a quiet Christian faith that was never loud or showy, but steady and constant through every season of her life. It was the kind of faith that carried her through joy and heartbreak, through long, ordinary days and through the hardest of nights. She trusted her Lord completely, and that trust became the soft, sure foundation of everything she did. That faith led her to move her family to Arkansas, so they could attend First Pentecostal Church in North Little Rock, where she was a faithful member for 46 years. She loved to sing and joyfully shared her talents as a member of the church choir. As a young woman, Mary Jo also found joy in sewing, lovingly making shirts and dresses for those she held dear.

She was first blessed to share her life and raise her precious children with her husband, Charles Ray Mooney, whose memory she carried with tenderness. Later, in a beautiful gift of second chances, she opened her heart again and found deep companionship and love with Martin Hembrock, walking beside him with the same quiet devotion she gave so freely.

Above all else, Mary Jo was a mother through and through. Her love for her children was fierce yet gentle, unconditional, and never-failing. She did not have to preach her faith; she simply lived it. In the way she listened, in the meals she prepared, in the prayers she whispered over them in the dark, and in the patience she showed when life was difficult. Through her example, she showed everyone what true love and grace look like, and that legacy became the very heartbeat of her family.

Mary Jo was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings, Johnny Hylton, Larry Hylton, and Judy Henry; and her first husband, Charles Ray Mooney.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her devoted husband, Martin Hembrock; her children, Brenda Sheppard (Steve), Terry Mooney (Shari), Stan Mooney, Ronda Mooney, Carla Mooney, and Brent Mooney (Shelley); her stepchildren, Neal Hembrock (Caryn), Barry Hembrock, Charlie Hembrock, Dale Hembrock (Angel), Lana Kellam (Eric), and Marta Hoffman (Mike); her brothers, Ed Hylton and Carl Hylton; her sisters, Wanda Fisher, Anna Sheppard, and Reba Moschini; eleven cherished grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and many other beloved family members and friends who each carry a piece of her warmth, her strength, and her unwavering love.

Though our hearts ache with her absence, we find comfort in knowing that the faith she lived by has now become sight. Mary Jo is whole, at peace, and finally home. Her gentle spirit, quiet courage, and boundless love will continue to live on in every prayer whispered, every story shared, and every life she touched.
A celebration of life will be held at First Pentecostal Church in North Little Rock on Monday, December 29, at 11:00 a.m., with a visitation one hour prior. A procession will follow to Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Cabot for interment.

Jewel Dean Persinger Chrestman loves her family, and she loves Jesus above all else.

Jewel was born to James Clemons and Grace Victoria Basset in West Helena, Arkansas, on February 7, 1935. After her mother's unexpected death in 1948, Jewel was adopted by her uncle and aunt, Louis and Modine Scott.

Jewel is preceded in death by her parents, her adopted parents, her brother, Robert ''Buddy'' Persinger, her son, James Edward Chrestman, III ''Eddie'', and her husband of 70 years, James Edward Chrestman, Jr.

Here to rejoice and celebrate her home-going are her brother, Dennis, and his wife, Corrine. Along with her children Anna Livingston Chrestman Barnard and Richard, Doyle Chrestman and Rhonda, Victoria Chrestman Hollis and Walt, Gizelle Chrestman Jones and Brett, Carla Chrestman Martin and Charles, 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and countless nieces, nephews, and friends who claimed her as their Granny or Aunt Jewel, which sounded like ''Angel''.

Mom loved Jesus the most. He was the most important aspect of her life. She journaled about her talks with him and rarely left a conversation with a stranger without mentioning Jesus to them. She intentionally raised her five children to love Jesus, to respect the sanctity of the body of Christ, to honor the role of their pastor, and to lead others to Jesus. This godly woman's tenacity influenced all five of her children and their spouses to pursue ministry in various forms. What a legacy to build and leave!

Jewel impacted so many lives: young and old. She taught Sunday School, led Tuesday prayer meetings, facilitated grief share, participated in the Red Hatter's Society, coordinated meals for the bereaved, and coached individuals re-entering society from time in prison. Jewel was nominated ''Volunteer of the Year'' several times from Meadow Park Elementary, the school where some of her children and grandchildren attended. One year she was even nominated the ''Volunteer of the Year'' for Pulaski County School District. She was also awarded ''Apostolic Church Mother of the Year'' multiple times, and served as an officer for the Ladies Auxiliary at the home church and state levels.

Jewel, Mom, Granny, G-Granny: whoever she was to you, she loved you. She mentioned you in prayer by name every single day, and she is finally home and at complete peace with her savior, Jesus

A homegoing celebration will be held at Apostolic Church, North Little Rock, Arkansas, Friday, December 19, 2025, at 11:00 a.m.

Perry DeGrays Shock Jr., born June 23, 1947, went to be with his Lord and Savior on December 4, 2025.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Perry DeGrays Shock Sr. and Helen Keathley Shock; his brothers, Bobby Shock and Kevin Shock; and his sister-in-law, Linda Shock.

He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Beverly Gray Shock of Sherwood; his son, Perry DeGrays Shock III (Dawn) of Cabot; his cherished grandchildren, Carys and Bella; his nephews, Joel and Jason Shock; and his beloved four-legged companion, Tommy.

Perry was a 1965 graduate of Conway High School and was immensely proud to be a member of the football team that won the state championship during his senior year. He attended what is now the University of Central Arkansas before earning his Doctor of Pharmacy. After retiring from a successful career in pharmacy, Perry embraced a second calling in the world of finance, serving as a financial advisor, trainer, recruiter, and manager. Through his work and into retirement, he touched countless lives. Above all, Perry was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and he was especially proud of his son, Perry III.

Baseball was Perry’s greatest passion. Growing up, he played pitcher and first base and was even offered the opportunity to pursue a professional baseball career after high school. He chose instead to remain close to home and family. Following in his father’s footsteps, Perry dedicated himself to coaching his son from tee ball through Legion ball, never missing a game. Legion ball in their community would not exist without the dedication and hard work of the Shock family. The family takes comfort in imagining Perry now on the pitcher’s mound, Kevin at first base, Perry Sr. at short stop, Bobby behind the plate as catcher, and Jesus as the umpire.

Perry loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and lived his life guided by faith.

A celebration of life will be held at Roller-Owens Funeral Home in North Little Rock on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at 2:00 p.m.

Carter Davis Wilkins, of North Little Rock, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on November 23, 2025. He was born on September 21, 2005, and during his twenty years of life, he brought joy, kindness, and lasting memories to all who knew him.

Carter was a graduate of North Little Rock High School, and his next adventure was set to be the start of his welding career; a path he looked toward with excitement and determination. Carter was a lifelong member of Lakewood Methodist Church, where he worshiped alongside his grandparents. A former Cub Scout and Boy Scout, Carter embodied the curiosity and adventurous spirit those programs instill. He cherished the outdoors and found great happiness in hunting deer and ducks, fishing for anything willing to bite, and spending time surrounded by nature. When he wasn't outdoors or gaming, he enjoyed taking peaceful drives in his truck with country music playing. Above all, he treasured the close relationship he shared with his parents and his older brother, who remained the center of his world.

Among Carter's greatest passions was cooking. He was known for his strong opinions about seasonings and took great pride in preparing meals for those he loved. Some of his most treasured moments were spent cooking alongside his granddaddy during the holiday season; memories his family will forever hold close.

Carter was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Dr. Calvin Wilkins, and his beloved dog, Hershey.

He is survived by his parents, Karena Wilkins and Thomas Wilkins; his brother, Cameron Wilkins; his paternal grandmother, Margaret Wilkins; his maternal grandparents, Rebecca and James Deitz; his loyal companion, Harley; and a wide circle of extended family members and friends who were deeply important to him.

In lieu of flowers and plants, donations may be made in Carter's name to Arkansas Chapter Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or to the UAMS Cystic Fibrosis Clinic.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 29, at 11:00 a.m. at Lakewood Methodist Church in North Little Rock, with visitation beginning one hour prior.
