It's easy to get to the end of the year and wonder how time has passed by so fast. We often have regrets about how we wish we would have done more or achieved this certain goal. I want to encourage you to not discount all of the growth & healing you have done. It's easier to name the "What ifs" than it is to acknowledge the chapters we rested, the seasons we fought, and the changes we have made that our younger self would be proud of. 💗

It is officially holiday season and not a celebratory time for everyone. Please remember that it is ok to set boundaries with others (ESPECIALLY family) and to prioritize your mental health over "tradition". It is also a time of grief for many and that can look different for everyone. Take care of yourself this season and reach out if you are needing more support 💕

As shared in this post, we need to understand how clinical terms such as "Trauma dumping" is being used out of context in hurtful ways with pop psychology. Trauma dumping IS sharing graphic unsolicited details without consent and without awareness of the listener. Part of community and relationships is sharing in your struggle and creating space when someone is struggling. There is something to be said for having boundaries and "protecting your energy" but not when the perspective eliminates raw connection and community with others. In a world where we are starved for real connection, we have to stop settling for surface level relationships and take a chance at being vulnerable.
