It’s been awhile since I’ve posted anything- it’s a strange time all around! But, regardless we’ve been working on some exciting things!
First, I want to make it clear that I deliver and operate at both hospitals. I have no obligation or preference and so can work with your insurance and preferences. I love this flexibility for my patients!

Second, the new building is moving along. We’ve got plans getting engineered, our design team is working on our office layout, and we’re hoping to break ground in July!

Third, we are working hard towards private practice which will give us even more flexibility and access to more insurance plans (like Selectmed)! We will have a webpage up soon with more information. Our new practice will be called Mt. Naomi Women’s Health and will be myself, Nathan Bertoldo and Deb Flansburg as our midwife. I love working with these guys and I’m so excited to be in private practice with them!

Three posts in one day! Just a heads up, I'm planning a Facebook live tomorrow around lunch to go through some our most frequent questions. Hope to see you!

So as I mentioned, this transition has been awesome in many ways, but very difficult in some. With all the insurance problems I have had many patients-friends- that have had to transfer care. This is heartbreaking to me. Not due to income, or anything, but I feel like I've abandoned some of you. It has been exceedingly difficult. The good news is that I should be back on all my previous panels -even BAS!- soon. All except Selectmed. I know it is difficult to get into another provider as well. I've talked to Selectmed and they want all my patients that have trouble making an appointment in a reasonable time to call this number. The more they know about access the more they can help and can even make exceptions for you to come see me.

Regardless, plans are moving forward on a new building and private practice. Selectmed has assured me I should be back on panel at that point. Cross your fingers our building can be done by next year. Our new practice will be called Mt.Naomi Women's Health- so watch for it. Our building will be just west of Cache Valley Hospital.
I am so grateful for all of you. You bring meaning to my life and practice! I truly just want to be there for you in whatever capacity.
Wash your hands and stay safe!

Hi friends! Its been a minute since I've been able to post. Seems like I'm putting out a lot of fires but things are calming. I wanted to finally finish my last of my 10 steps today. After this hard transition this one is a little too close to my heart. I'll tell you more in my next post. So here's #10

10. Remember, everyone has a bad day.

We are all humans, and as such, are fallible. We get tired, distracted, frustrated and hurt. We deal with problems at home, with our own children, even our own medical problems. We may have just had a very frustrating patient or a bad outcome weighing on us. We may really, really like you but our heads are pounding with our own headaches and we just can’t be “jolly”. We may not have the energy to get excited over a problem that, granted, is new for you but that we have already seen three times that day. The demands of the government and new electronic records can be overwhelming. Some days are just bad days. We work hard to not judge you with one visit, so please do the same with us. Sometimes things just don’t click between two people, yet we are here to serve and help and that will always be our ultimate goal. No matter what the media and naysayers say, we know where our hearts are- its for that reason we get out of bed at all hours, that we take phone calls during our family dinner, that we research and worry about you, that we read and go to conferences to try and stay current. We want your visits to be awesome, productive and we want to help you stay healthy, physically and emotionally. If we both assume the best intentions and both come prepared to your visit, we can make a great team.
