A note from our ACF+ Program Coordinator:
Last Thursday Joy would have turned 13. I'm not going to lie- this one hurt. I have spent the last week trying to image who she might be as a teenager. Only God fully understands just how much pain my heart has been in.
In the midst of a really heavy grief milestone for my beautiful girl, my colleagues at Advocates for Children and Families (also known as ACF Adoptions) launched a fundraiser in her memory. I'd love to bump this number just a bit higher before we close it out this Thursday.
For those of you who don't know, I run the ACF+ Program (a division of ACF Adoptions) which is a nationwide program focused on helping families considering and working on private medically complex adoptions. I do this in honor of Joy, my own family's experience, and the incredible gift of her birth parents. We fundraise throughout the year to help keep our adoption fees for this program low because costs should never be the barrier in medically complex adoption.
