Kicking off the new year in high gear, S-BR’s waterproofing team just started a new project, AMLI in Wynwood. It’s an 8 story apartment and retail project enriching a unique location.


Following our commitment to our mission of making structures safer and durable, our craftsmen are applying different waterproofing techniques which will protect the structural integrity of the building.

Waterproofing is our bread and butter and we’re thrilled to continue to provide solutions for developers like AMLI. We look forward to the successful completion of this project in Wynwood.

The iconic art-deco-inspired and historic Miami-Dade County Courthouse, once ranked as the tallest building in South Florida. It closed earlier this year after a structural observation found signs of advanced deterioration.

S-BR is teaming up with EXP Engineering to perform a visual inspection of the basement’s columns to determine the present conditions of the steel reinforcement. After a thorough inspection is completed, our objective is to restore the columns back to their original condition using several techniques.

Our clients rely on us due to our extensive track record working with the City of Miami. In due time, this restoration will lead to the reopening of the courthouse after work is completed and it’s deemed safe for the public.

Palm Beach VA Medical Center, S-BR Design Build Structural Strengthening solution

The Palm Beach Veteran Affairs Medical Center upgrade of radiology room required the strengthening of the support beams due to the weight of the new equipment. The traditional method to strengthen beams involves the form of a wider external jacket around the beams of steel and concrete. However, this method was not implemented, due to the amount of conducts under the floors, which limited the working space.

S-BR’s design build solution used CFRP, which allowed for the work to be performed in a highly congested space. Several layers of Carbon-fiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP) were bonded with epoxy adhesive to the face and bottom of the support beams. While adding less than half of an inch to the beams size, they effectively upgraded the floors to support the new equipment without interfering with the hospital operations.

At Jackson Memorial Hospital Diagnostic Treatment Center main entrance, S-BR was chosen by Turner Construction to perform waterproofing. The S-BR team, in partnership with Tremco, have selected the PUMA System for its quick curing time and long-lasting durability. This system will keep the structure from water intrusion and future concrete damage. It is crucial for Jackson to have their main entrance open, to continue serving the community and guaranteeing continued progress.
