We honor the life and legacy of Nancy Metayer Bowen, a trailblazer, public servant, and true inspiration to our youth.

As a proud Haitian American leader and Vice Mayor of Coral Springs, she made history while remaining deeply rooted in service. Her commitment to community, civic engagement, and environmental advocacy set a powerful example for the next generation.

At Prosperity, our youth had the opportunity to learn about her through our Shine Bright After School Program. Her story showed them what is possible through leadership, purpose, and perseverance.

Her legacy is one of strength, representation, and unwavering dedication to uplifting others. We extend our heartfelt condolences to her family, loved ones, and all those impacted by her life and leadership.

May her legacy continue to inspire, and may we honor her by continuing the work she so passionately believed in. 🕊️

Today at Shine Bright, our youth had the honor of welcoming Chief Cherise Gause ✨👮🏾‍♀️

In the spirit of Women’s History Month, it was especially powerful for our young people—especially our young girls—to witness a woman leading with strength, purpose, and excellence. Representation matters, and today was a reminder that there are no limits to what they can become.

During Spring Break, we’re not just keeping our youth engaged—we’re investing in their future and exposing them to real leaders in our community. 💙

From exploring interactive exhibits to discovering the wonders of science, technology, and the natural world, our students were fully engaged and excited every step of the way. This hands-on experience sparked curiosity, creativity, and a deeper love for learning.

We extend our sincere thanks to Vice Mayor Yvette Colbourne for the invitation and for hosting such an inspiring event.

It was a privilege to hear from Karine Jean-Pierre, former White House Press Secretary under Joe Biden and former Chief of Staff to Kamala Harris.

As the first Haitian-American woman to serve in this role, her journey continues to inspire women and young people everywhere.

Prosperity Social & Community Development Group, Inc. (PSCDG) is a non-profit organization located in North Miami whose mission is to provide meaningful opportunities that will stimulate and revitalize social and economic development in underserved communities throughout Miami-Dade County, working with individuals marginalized in our society, including minority groups, immigrants, women, teen-girls, the homeless and ex-offenders.
