Did You Know????

In Miami-Dade County, over 30,000 children have disabilities.

Many families struggle to access coordinated care and often feel lost, isolated, and overwhelmed.

Most disability agencies are located 15+ miles away, leaving families in North Miami and nearby areas with limited access to essential services.

What Are We Doing About It?

Empowering Families. Building Inclusion. Creating Possibilities.

At Morebility, we’re building bridges of support by offering educational workshops, inclusive community events, and resources that empower families raising children with disabilities.

On July 26, 1990, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) was signed into law—a moment that changed everything.

It meant that people with disabilities finally had legal protection against discrimination in everyday life: at work, in schools, on buses, in public spaces, and beyond.

For the first time, access wasn’t just an accommodation. It became a civil right!

35 years later, we’re still building on that foundation. We’re celebrating progress, but we’re also pushing for more because real inclusion is ongoing work.

On March 12, 1990, dozens of activists with disabilities left their wheelchairs and crawled up the steps of the U.S. Capitol to demand the passage of the ADA. There were no ramps or no access, but they showed up anyway. That moment helped change history.

After WWII, many soldiers came home with life-altering injuries and quickly realized how inaccessible the world around them was.

They couldn’t enter buildings, get around town, or return to work. And they weren’t alone! Millions of Americans with disabilities were facing the same barriers every day.

Their frustration turned into activism. Veterans and civilians alike started demanding better. That spark grew into a movement, and decades later, it helped lead to the passing of the ADA.

So when we talk about the ADA’s 35th anniversary, we’re really talking about people who spoke up, showed up, and refused to be overlooked.
